Ashley gets up, lightly getting out of Kyle's hug, and goes upstairs to her old room.

Kyle shrugs and goes to take a seat in a chair.

Kaiser looks up at her.

"You think you what?"

She shakes her head.

"I just...I don't know how to act, now. Now that you're here. I mean...what am I supposed to do? How can I live a normal life when I can do this!?

As she says the last word, Kaiser would feel a thrumming in his bones, and a strange prickling sensation where the nanobots had fused into his body, followed by hearing the sound of tearing cloth as great metal wings unfolded from behind the girl. They were beautiful, in a fashion, certainly not crude replicas, but clean, smooth lines, a style of it's own, rather than a mere caricature of feathers or organic mass. Yet they seem to be alive in their own right, long sweeping metal blades brushing the ground, reacting to every movement of the person who's facade of stability and calm cracks in front of you as you watch. Yet the wings seem to be cradling her, curling around protectively as she falls to her knees in despair.

Kaiser is temporarily entranced.

"At l-least you can hide y-yours..."

He lifts up his right arm, a lump of living metal and crystal.

"B-but you can never r-really live a normal life, once things get w-weird enough... But then I m-met some people. They... h-helped me, so now I h-help them save l-lives, and occasionally t-the world...

"Then... c-come with me."

"Considering they probably have strong anti-void fields, we can't send Bartimaeus for reckon, and as much as I hate to say it, he is the best spy we have. I still think we should focus on finding the escape entrance and get in through that, bypass their main defences. Kaiser, can you do that satelite hacking stuff again, gives us images of the surroundings? Maybe we can find some sort of suspicious hut or something. The escape tunnel goes south from the stronghold."

Looking up at him, tears threatening to leave her eyes, the girl's wings slowly uncurl to allow Kaiser to come close.

"O-okay..." she says, as she grasps it.
