In that case, I'll have to continue the reference and use an orbital weapon to kill it  :P

It's the only way to be sure.

But really, people should only summon things that are weaker than them. Otherwise they get into stupid shit.

summoning something that is actually stronger than you is very difficult to do, and such a summon wont stay for long anyway

...

Gigantic level summon, with a 24 magic rating and a bunch of drawbacks.

It can last the whole battle, easily, though it'll take a while to come into existence.

No more than any other spell. The rules are all in the OP for that stuff, Akroma.

Speaking of which, smurf, Leth is basically ready to go, right? I know I don't yet have a description, but that type of stuff becomes apparent in play, anyway.

I wonder if a change to Icarus ability could be made. I literaly used it every turn last fight until I ran out of mana - and only once I actually rolled higher than I would have rolled anyway.

perhaps is can be changed to a direct +x bonus, with a different scaling. Perhaps a similar scaling can be done to magic attacks, to have less 91-damage shots running around. Still trying to figure out the scaling, though definetly should be percentage based

which reminds me smurf, plz, remove the charsheets from the OP and just replace them with links, so peoples level ups are properly shown.

example scalings on Icarus increasing one of her stats, the relevant ones are mostly at 15:

Now:

roll variance: 1-15, from small act 1-23, from medium act 1-30, from big act (not even unlocked yet, but man, still a while till Icarus plot) 1-38

huge variance, with potential for burst damage, but as a whole, very unreliable

Test variances:

10%

1-15, 3-17, 4-18, 6-20

way too low

20%

1-15, 4-18, 7-21, 10-24

still feels a bit low, but falls in line with many other skills

30%

1-15, 6-20, 10-24, 15-29

that may be a bit high.

so I am thinking an increase of 25% per spell level, rounded up. This as a whole makes the ability a whole lot more reliable, while also removing the ridiculous burst potential it would usualy have.

smurf, thoughts?

((for dalia, I am thinking 15%, as reductions are well more powerful in this system as increases are, but that is up to debate))

Well, I wanna take a look at that with Leth, since 24 splits into fourths more evenly than 15 does.

Current System:
1-24, 1-36, 1-48, 1-60, 1-72, 1-84, 1-96, 1-108

Ridiculous burst damage...or rolling a 1 on Hellfire Inferno and ragequitting.

20%:
1-24, 6-29, 11-34, 15-38, 20-43, 25-48, 29-52, 34-57

Meh...

25%:
1-24, 7-30, 13-36, 19-42, 25-48, 31-54, 37-60, 43-66

...Still feels kinda meh,for pure damage skills. But I suppose I'm not taking resistance into account.

Other variations of increases should be fairly obvious.

For magic attacks, while the consistency would be very nice(and I think average damage would actually go up a little bit, before resistance), I'm just not sure the expense it ends up being is worth it. But if we were to change to that system, I could definitely support it. I guess. I think somehow I'd prefer 35% increase more than 25%, but that's just me.

In all honesty, I thought it was just you rolled on your normal magic stat and multiplied the result by the multiplier for the ability level.

Alright, 25% it is, but if it's too OP I'll shift it down to 20%. Also, those attacks are pretty powerful, even if they did get reduced.

if you roll your normal magic stat and mulriply that value, then you are even more likely to roll low, and a 1 multiplied by 3 is still ragequit stuff

also okay, I will add the 25% to my charsheet. wether this becomes standard for the scaling of attacks that scale is up to you to decide
