Test 2:
Poisoned minecart serrated disk shotgun.
Notes: Took a little modification to the gun to get this to work. Tested on tree fondling hippies.

Results:
While fully capable of outright killing them the serrated disks seem to like to fly at odd angles and go through elves. The syndrome this time was from a clown with nausea syndrome. The elves seemed to get hit, lose a limb or get bisected, and then start spewing vomit everywhere. The vomit spread the contaminate to other nearby elves and resulted in a massive pile of !!FUN!!

Elves still vomiting, waiting for starvation to kick in instead of sending my dwarves this time.

Somehow I feel like this is even worse than if you had used a necrosis syndrome. Mass vomiting as the elves slowly bleed or starve to death, assuming infection from vomit-caked wounds doesn't get to them first.

Notes: I had to import this shit from the good biome. *shudder*

Results:
Elves hit with spears get hit with the syndrome and start spreading that syndrome around. I think I may have just constructed a hall of very poisonous death. Adaptation to make watergun work with magma and mechanisms to control speed in progress.

That won't work - the magma burns contaminants away. Loading the watergun would thus decontaminate the minecart and any ammunition.
Magma can however be used to quickly (well, more quickly than decontamination via smashing at least) decontaminate your target area if you ever feel the need to do so.

The problem is there are too many contaminants and I need to cleanse the area. Plus once DF 2014 comes out I can fill it with syndrome bile and use that.

Won't we have liquids other than water/magma in DF2014?

I look forward to having poisoned blood streams being used in my water guns.

Test 4:

Results: Your probably already know.

Test 5:
If a thrown creature can spread syndromes if it's covered in it.
Results: Yes, and if it's something dangerous like cave crocodiles I have masses of the results are very !!FUN!!

!!SCIENCE!! Has been done, and that elven caravan won't live to see another day.

I want someone to run a test for me, as I have no means of getting to my PC with DF on it

Do flaming creatures spread fire to creatures around it?

It would be wonderful if we could fill water cannons with imported blood from trade caravans, mix in an FB syndrome or two, and shower elves in blood and disease. Armok would be proud.

The flying giant badger blood spray hits the elf bowman in the left foot, fourth toe, brusing the muscle through the rope reed shoe!
The elf bowman looks sick!
the elf bowman loses hold of a rope reed shoe!
The elf bowman loses hold of rope reed trousers!
The elf bowman vomits!

Using contaminants in watergun is akin to fighting sieges by burrowing your dwarves in meeting hall and starting flooding it with magma when goblins get inside.
After landing a hit contaminants may stick around in target zone, which will lead to a load of dead cats and occasional dead dwarf. And that's if it doesn't spread to any other place.
In my experience, the best results were from covering bolts and keeping those away from water.

As for fire, there were some reports about using flaming plump helmet men to kill goblins. Not shotgunned though.

Hmm. I should probably borrow some of these ideas for the Fortress Defense II things.

FD adds a lot of new enemies with immunities to stuff. Frogmen can't drown, imps can't be incinerated, zombies can't be poisoned. A combination drowning/watergun/poison/lava chamber is most useful there, I think.

But let's be honest. 'because I can' is the only reason anyone does anything around here.

My dwarves have boots, and all invader drops are forbidden on drop so my dwarves don't to barreling out for that XxTroll fur sockxX
