((Now I noticed it seems Lars never gave us an actually accurate description of what's going on the sixth floor. Remember we are pretending to be here for an inspection of the electrical - and possibly plumbing - system.))

"Thaddeus stays. Keep watch with goggles. Keep us informed."

Take a look at the building with the goggles on, from inside the room.

After that, follow Lars. Thomas in tow. Present papers if necessary. Get access.

Check for fire stairs, emergency exits, maintenance corridors, similar things.

Alright

Make sure everyone has a radio/walkie-talkie/cellphone and all are set to the same channel and/or have the numbers of the other ones.

After Milno is done with the goggles, take them. When everyone leaves, lock the room door. Scan around the hotel, mostly the upper floors to keep an eye on what's happening upstairs.

Keep the laser pistol in hand, just to be on the safe side. See if it also has the intensity and diffusion settings like the laser rifle.

Report anything major happening upstairs to the rest of the team.

"Yes, Saint Milno.  Skylar, team?"

Sure, let's head out and get the keys.

Grab paperwork, a radio, a few cameras, and the emergency kit (or some tools out of it if the kit itself doesn't look anything like a toolbox :P)

Head out with Lars to ask for keys. Let the priest talk

"We go."

Lars headed out with Skylar in tow, to present himself to the front desk.

Head to front desk.  Present papers.  Hopefully get approved.

"Electrical work needs to be done in rooms.  Must be up to code.  Need keys and access."
Skylar and Lars, after gathering up some supplies, head down to the front desk and hit the bell a few times. The owner emerges from the back room again, still looking as tired and annoyed as last time. Lars presents him with the paperwork and talks to him in mostly passable version of the Kanese dialect. The old man looks from the papers to Lars and back, smacking wrinkled limps and blinking slowly as he scans through the papers. About halfway through the papers he looks past Lars and sees Skylar. His eyes narrow.

"Why you rent room if here repair wires?" He asks.

You scan around the hotel with the goggles, seeing much the same thing as Lars. Sparsely occupied rooms, with the most interesting being a 6th floor room with two large men outside it.

You follow Lars down stairs a few minutes later, with Thomas in tow, but stop in the stairwell when you hear the owner questioning him. You figure it's best not to show yourself, considering the line of investigation going on. On the way down you keep an eye out for exit signs, fire escapes or other such things. From what you can tell, in the quick inspection you have while walking down stairs, this is the only way down.

Nothing really changed since milno looked around, so you stay quiet.

Keep on with the watching, waiting and reporting. Be sure to check both doors to the team rooms every so often in case someone tries to sneak up on Thaddeus.

Just wait for the resolution of the problem, I suppose.

"Must inspect all wiring.  Take two days."

If he was addressing me specifically, respond with the following:
Yes. Local inspectors busy or sick, called from next town. Take time, need more controlled work space than available.

Otherwise, take out datapad and look a little impatient. Start taking notes on the 'wiring' while we wait

"Must inspect all wiring.  Take two days."
The man squints at you for a long moment. Finally, he shrugs and hands the paperwork back to you. He seems sort of annoyed or insulted, but makes no effort to prevent your work.

"Do not disturb patrons. Work not early morning, late night." He grumbles as he retreats into the back room.

Keep on with the watching, waiting and reporting. Be sure to check both doors to the team rooms every so often in case someone tries to sneak up on Thaddeus.
You keep scanning, watching the dull white skeletons of your team converse with the  shrunken skeleton of the proprietor. Nothing amiss as of yet.

Just wait for the resolution of the problem, I suppose.
Seems solved, for now.

You attempt to look busy and official as the Man talks to Lars, staring at lighting fixtures and jotting down quick and meaningless scribbles on your data pad. It seems to work.

Lars simply nodded in reply, motioned to Skylar, and headed upstairs.

How many floors is this hotel?  If 6 isn't the top floor, head to 7 (after sticking a camera to watch the stair entrance to 5 and 6).  Otherwise head to 5.  In either case, start pretending to inspect, while listening carefully to floor 6.  Also stick a camera just inside the stairwell once we're out of sight.

Make sure everyone has walkie-talkies before we split up. Go around pretending to be inspecting along with Thomas and checking whether there are more goons or any security cameras around.

Same as before, wait, watch, and report. Oh, and grab Stevecom and keep it near by for ease of access.

Thomas decides to do as Skylar did, trying to make himself look important.

((Yeah, so I didn't post because finals.))
You busy yourself with looking busy.

You climb the stairwell up to the fifth floor, slipping a camera into an inconspicuous corner as you do. The fifth floor seems to be an exact duplicate of the floor you're staying on, at least in terms of architecture: same room layout, same halls, same everything, except for a different wallpaper.  You carefully position yourself just below the two men on the sixth floor and listen. You can occasionally hear the floor above you creak as they shift their weight or pace back and forth, along with a very quiet murmur of their speech, though nothing you can make out.

Make sure everyone has walkie-talkies before we split up. Go around pretending to be inspecting along with Thomas and checking whether there are more goons or any security cameras around.
You inspect the second and third levels, slowly making your way up the building. The second and third levels are, as Lars  discovered, identical to each other. The building seems to be nothing but a stack of identical floors all the way up, except perhaps with the ground floor. As per goons or security cameras, there don't seem to be any, at least none that you see. The hotel seems very...whats a good word...ratty? The target clearly picked it either out of desperation or was hoping to avoid detection by hiding in a seemingly unlikely place as opposed to wandering around with an army of body guards.

Same as before, wait, watch, and report. Oh, and grab Stevecom and keep it near by for ease of access.
One of the two men outside the door upstairs leaves his post and walks into the room. From what you can tell, he's using the bathroom. You report it to everyone, just in case.

Thomas looks around, making sure that nobody is present before speaking into his radio:
"Do any of you have an idea of where our target is?"
Keep looking around.
