Once it gets to descriptions is when Toady cracks down on it. Discussing it in this situation is generally allowed.

I'm...

Actually kind of scared about what you're planning after view said that.

Which explains the *fade to black* in all the games I've seen Kyle in.

The first two make sense, as they are things done in television. I'm not going to ask why fade to red, because I probably don't want to know. Also, where's Remuthra, I know he's been online?

Didn't really need to know, but I guess if we ever fade to red in this game we all know the gist of what is going on. I just realized that I have way more skills than anyone else...

Alright, I'm not encumbered, have personal basics and whatnot.  That is without rations, however.  How many rations will we likely need?

You'll need three meals each per day of travel. You can supplement this by hunting and foraging, but you'll probably want some. First you'll need to figure out where you're going, and thus how long it'll take to get there. I could just have you start the game with your characters already knowing, or you could game figuring out where the place is and how to get there. Considering your characters don't already know each other, having you game finding the place would probably be best. I think I'll start you all out in a tavern and take things from there. So don't buy any more trail rations than you think your character would want to already have for immediate needs.

oh, and the rules for hunting & foraging: You can each roll Fishing, Naturalist, and/or Survival once per trip. Success halves your food requirements, crit success either eliminates them or halves your and someone elses, failure cuts them by a third, and crit failure does nothing. for more details, check out DF2: Dungeons.

So what comes with the group basics that don't have yet?

Cooking pot, simple tools you probably only want one of, like a hatchet or whatever.

Are you still here Remuthra? Don't be afraid to ask if you have questions.

Alright, buying rations now. Also, I'm assuming a holy symbol doesn't cost anything or weigh any significant amount?

Character sheet complete.

Also, Kyle's skills are all wacky, looking at his sheet. A lot of them should be higher than they are.  Not sure what's going on there.
My best guess is that he increased his attributes after assigning skills and never went back and updated his skills.
