I could easily slide under that.
Disclaimer: The picture of the gate is an example and does not reflect the in-game gate.

I think that's a gate for someone's driveway, though I could be wrong. It looks like it's just supposed to look cool, not keep anyone out.

Sustained gunfire to the hinges should warp them to the point of being unable to support the gate, three or four bullets should do it.

And may send deadly richoets bouncing around the place.

Just climb over.
Sniper takes postions in a nearby building covering our soldiers as they advance through.

I'm concerned if we leave the second pinned squad they'll get wiped out and we'll be blindsided from the rear, so Bravo goes right and Charlie goes left.

That's impossible.

Actually, at high enough velocities, a chip of paint could easily destroy a tank.

Bullets are more then capable of warping and shattering cast iron, as cast iron is the material that kind of gate would be built out of and a rather brittle material and is fairly weak in comparison to the weapons grade metals that the bullets would be composed of. If anything, it's more likely for it to shatter then warp. Resulting in the same result but less bullets used. If this is a iron played bronze gate, which is the other possibility, the bullets should easily warp it.

Charlie is equipped with two grenade launchers. Shame we only have frag grenades :(
Seriously though, let's not waste them. The launchers only have four shots each.

+1. Sniper climbs in last, after the other three are safely over.

This is a guest OOC appearance from your friendly neighborhood metal nerd.  (as in, I'm going to school for it, and getting straight A's)

Actually, at high enough velocities, a chip of paint could easily destroy a tank.

At the velocity needed to do that, the chip would burn up from air friction first.  Let's stick to the actual matter at hand.

Bullets are more then capable of warping and shattering cast iron, ...

He didn't say cast iron, he said wrought iron.  But really, a simple modern metal gate will be made of mild steel; these days, actual proper wrought iron is only used in limited amounts for decorative purposes.

If the gate is similarly sized to the example picture, you're not gonna find and single functional bit that's less than a 1/2 inch thick....  _Especially_ the hinges.  Even if it's the gooiest mild steel can come, metal that thick will thumb its nose at your small caliber rounds.  You may gouge it a little if you stuck the muzzle to the hinge, but you'll blow every round you've got before even one of the hinges fails.

Then there's the matter of unleashing a thousand pound gate from the thing that's holding it up...  Did you bring a lot of rope, and pulleys?  And five extra guys to hold the ropes while you shoot all your shots into thick metal?

Save your rounds for the bad guys, man.  Climb over the damn thing.

Also, if you argue with the GM, you're gonna have a bad time.  ;)

I thought you said we couldn't climb? I am so confused...

Okay reserving the rest for how were going to climb this wall.

....
Charlie has exited the vehicle by now, leaving it by the curb. They move quickly. "Sir, I'm hearing a lot of gunfire." They reach the main gate. "It's locked. It's nearly as tall as the wall, but I think we can climb over."
....

Narratively, this is called a hint.  ;)

On the contrary, 3man.

Most bullets that are fired from the sort of calibres we'd be using are jacketed lead bullets. This is hardened lead (lead mixed with antimony or similiar) coated in a shell of copper normally. So 'weapons grade metals' doesn't actually mean much there. A lot bullets are designed to flatten out or fragment on impact so it does more tissue damage... neither property being useful for destroying a lump of wrought iron.

It's possible that we'd be using bullets with steel penetrators inside (this is a steel rod inside the lead designed to hel pgo through body armour) but I doubt it. If we were, it'd probably have worked better against flamerdude.

I started to, but now I don't think I need to write a whole turn for this:

Alpha is running as quickly as they can to the factory, slowed a bit by their wounded.

Bravo waits outside the factory.

Charlie hops the gate into the park. Most of the lamps are lit, but it's still quite dim. There's a lot of open space in front of the squad, along with some distant hedges.

E: It starts raining across the city. It's nearly midnight.
