Phase one still open? If so, 42.

You're mixing up the metaphors. I'm saying that remarking on the incredibly unstable nature of positronium is not necessary. Its nature means that is obvious.
Or maybe you're both of you mixing metaphors and literalisms, creating metaphorium, which undoubtedly has a short half-life (though whether I should make that statement is indeed in question). I predict the annihilation of this line of inquiry will occur within 3 posts. :)
Probably. I already feel this debate should have been resolved ages ago.

Posthumously cause violent chain reactions by way of released beta particles.

((Two mass equivalents of electrons cannot release more than two electrons, and if two were released it would be required that they had zero kinetic energy. You can hardly do any more damage. :P ))

((By combustion do you mean annihilation? Combustion would only apply if you produced a bunch of Ps2O and PsO, which it turns out is possible. Otherwise your point about asynchronous decay is fair, I guess I just don't have a sense for how many particles each of us has had.))

If it's so obvious, why are people trying to insist that it's an element?

If we ignore the bit where it would, you know, anihilate itself.

Form: Polymer.

((Because stability isn't a determining factor in what is or is not an element? Also, because this is the RtD forum on bay12, and the thread has a one word title (or had at the time) and therefor is not to be taken to extremely seriously. And finally, and most importantly in my opinion, because it is treated like an element from a physical chemistry perspective, and while it is unlikely to feature in any important drugs or anything like that it, metastable forms could be produced which could be used in catalysis of other reactions.

Chemists and physicists both love the strange things which exist out there, Ps tops that list, and so I'm excited about it.))

((So do most azide compounds. Still molecules.))

Positronium is not an atom. Nor is Gold, Platinum, Iridium, Cumingtonite, or Tungsten. Do you see them on the periodic table? No you don't.

Duh.
