Mod That Fixes the game.
« on: May 02, 2014, 12:44:18 am »

Ok so I want to recommend this game to a friend, but I dont want there first experience with the game to be in the messy broken state its in now ware you literally cannot interact with the elves, dwarves goblins or anything but human civs, due to the fact that human Cities are the only thing in the game, I am a experienced modder so I simply change the city type for each of these groups to "Default_Site: City" and so this isnt a isue for me but I cant seem to get anything to upload, I was wondering if there was a mod out there that does this for the player to avoid all this mess.

Well, there's Modest Mod, which is a collection of bugfixes.

If you want dwarven, elven and goblin sites, you either mod them so this races build cities like the humans or wait for next version, it doesn't seem to be very far from now.

Yeah, it's probably better to just wait for the proper sites in the next version.

It can't be broken if it isn't ready.

Shamlessly plugging this mod.

But yeah, this should provide you with the missing features + make everything visitable in adventure mode + off bugfixes/performance increase.
Mostly though the game isn't so much buggy as it is unfinished.

Introducing his friend to the game now would be a horrible disservice though, given how much will be changed around and added in the upcoming version.

Wait? XD  Iv been waiting since 2012! At this point we are better off just uploading a mod that makes all the other races live in City Sites.

It says that it makes all sites visitable except for dwarves.

Forgot about that. Taking the dwarves out of the mountains and into regions they could actually build cities wreacked havoc with their population density though. It's best to just pick out a dwarven fortress and visit that if you need the armor.

But yeah, the next release is in the bugfixing stage. If you're optimistic we have a few months to wait.

If you just set dwarves to "City" they can build cities inside the mountains.

A few months would be the pessimist's estimate really. The optimistic estimate would be in a week or two.

The true optimist is hitting F5 on the Bay 12 Games site right now.

Except that placing cities in mountains causes headaches for adventure mode because you can't enter fast travel while in mountains.
