Also why the fuck would they care if you were adding people? It's your steam. Simply explain that it lets you play multiplayer games with people.

Sounds eventful, I'm currently doing fuck all, eating food, and watching the glorious series known as "Freeman's Mind" by Accursed Farms on youtube. Pretty sweet if you ask me.

Actually it's just one, the other one would rather I not play games at all but isn't particularly concerned about my online interactions.

When I'm 18/in 3 and a half years, I won't have to deal with it*, but if I start pushing back, it might cause the anonymous parent to start looking into my activities more closely, and it'll be a boring 3.5 years if my online activities are stopped cold.

Currently I'm managing to keep from being discovered TOO often, not enough to start watching me like a hawk at any rate, and I'm willing to keep it going for another few years.

*It actually works this way here, when you hit 18, you're a not quite so easily influenced legal adult and can do what you want.
