Apocalypse!

Also, History!
Johnathyn was born and raised poor in the cities. His family had just enough money to avoid being homeless, but little else. After he managed to stumble across a breach stone, he ended up deciding to take up adventuring and traveling. There's considerably more to the story, but you guys wouldn't know that.

Excellent.

The skies above Kelok-Romekshome are dark as night despite it being midday. The smoke from the cities burning buildings block out all but the most vicious looking lights. The blackened skies crackle and hum with the burning energies released by two combatants.  On one side sits Berd leader of the Starmakers a group dedicated to sealing the breach and ending the creation of the lost. Opposite him stands Athri a woman of such intense power that some have begun to worship her as a goddess. The hatred burning in Berd's eyes is only matched by the excitement burning in Athri's. Between them is a kilometer of burning buildings and corpses. Behind them stand their followers, ready to lay down their lives to protect their leaders and beliefs.

Romeks tower stands in the distance. His power could turn the tide of this battle in favor of one or the other, but as insane as Athri is, giving Berd an inch is a political mile that he cant afford to lose.

Where are you? This is a major city with a functional sewer and many other attractions.

Standing on the lightning rod on the top of the tallest tower in the city watching the fighting.

Making my way through the chaos and destruction, looting whatever I can; valuables and whatever breach stones I might stumble across are the main target.

Wandering through the wreckage of the city, just a half-mile or so from the battle, trying to blend in with the destruction as best I'm able.

Standing on the lightning rod on the top of the tallest tower in the city watching the fighting.
From up on top of Romek's tower she can see everything. She can see Berd rallying his friends an allies while Athri begins to laugh.
Covertly prowling through the muck of the sewers.
He feels something stirring in the bowels of the earth it feels almost like a premature earthquake.
Making my way through the chaos and destruction, looting whatever I can; valuables and whatever breach stones I might stumble across are the main target.
No stones, but a great deal of jewelry and other shinies no real weapons to speak of.
Somewhere near the vicinity of Romeks tower. Looking for armour and weapons to defend myself.
The Romekshome armory is fully stacked with weapons and armor, if he wants to support the guard today, they'll be glad for the aid
Wandering through the wreckage of the city, just a half-mile or so from the battle, trying to blend in with the destruction as best I'm able.
He spots a man appearing to be establishing a ritual. Its hard to tell which side he's on, but the ritual is directed toward the battlefield
Also in the sewers, looking for rats to eat.
He too feels the tremors.  He catches sight of a many tentacled fish man.

Make my way to Athri's forces. Offer to join as an extra blade and caster.]
EDIT: While still looting anything I come across, of course.

Observe the fighting patiently but don't get involved yet. See if I can spot any weapon or armor shops that have been abandoned and if I can head to it. Or any armories.

Try to hide my approach by a cloud of sooty smoke, directed toward the ritualist.
