Character Name: Daniel Athen-Thorough

Appearance and Biography: A physicist and professor with a brilliant carreer, Daniel turned to politics to further the agenda of his fellow scientists (which are almost entirely reduced to "more budget to science! And education!". Daniel is the resident defender of costly, practically useless projects that could wield invaluable scientific results. Appears somewhat unkept, as he values intellectuality over superficiality of appearances in debate, to the point of disregarding the latter.

Support: People advocating for progress and education are almost always behind Daniel. Other people's support vary wildly depending on whether or not the scientific project asking for funding would further their own agenda. Militaries are happy to sign huge checks Daniel is handing them if they see potential for new toys for example. Industrial lobbies, on the other hand, will try to take down anything that would threaten their market position.

Traits: Scientist: all but immune to fudged statistics and fake science, high resistance to irrational  and illogical arguments.
Detached: Malus to public relations rolls where intellectual high ground is irrelevant or negatively seen.
Truly Fascinating: Have an almost supernatural ability of finding himself wherever something scientifically significant happens. Be it a breakthrough, archeotechnologic discovery or simply a congress, he WILL be there babbling about the latest scientific trivia and whine about budget restrictions.

Assets: Lodgement at and partial ownership of an University. Sometimes lecture there and earn a modest paycheck. Numerous ties amongst the scientific community and university professors.

Appearance: A woman of 5'6 height, possessing a thick build. Her orange-red hair has been cut to neck length. Her eyes are hazel, her skin tan like the beach on a cold, cloudy day.
Biography: Torri was born into an industrial working class family with seven other siblings. She used school as a method to ascend class and status, managing to graduate a chief university cum de laude. She used her degree to pursue the field of Social Sciences, focusing on tolerance and welfare for the poor. These jobs eventually allowed her to enter into the field of politics, where she gradually worked her way up the totem pole. An attempted assassination attempt by a reactionary paramilitary situation did not kill her, but only made her a living icon of her struggle, and actually made her a more popular candidate.
Support: Torri's positions and what she represents makes her popular among various groups: Leftists, Liberals, Some Moderates, Ethnic and Religious Minorities, Feminists, Homosexuals, Intellectuals, and the Working/Lower Classes. Of course, anyone opposed to these groups would be opposed to her as well.

Appearance: An unsuspecting, 5'6 man, with blond hair and brown eyes, about 34 years old. He seems to blend into the crowd, almost unconsciously.
Biography: John, if that's really his name, lived a tough life. He was orphaned at a young age during a terrorist attack, and brought up by soldiers. He joined the army the day he was old enough, and moved through the ranks, eventually being picked up by a Spec Ops team. He was eventually discharged after taking two bursts of fire in the left leg during a raid.
Support: John believes that the men he worked with and for are heroes, and that they deserve everything we can give them. He represents: Military, Military families, and, to a limited extent, Weapons Manufacturers.
