Free time? With all the wedding planning these past few months I've barely known what that is!

Happy marriage times Meph! I'm sure you've planned your wedding wisely. I've been to 14 weddings in the last five years (with five in 2012 alone). Here are some reflections from my not inconsiderable experience:
- The best weddings have a short ceremony and a long reception
- Making the guests pay for all their own wine is stingy
- There's always a lot of waiting around
- Favours (those little boxes of sweets) are super-overrated
- Crackers are fun though: I once sewed a lost button onto my suit with a sewing kit from a cracker at a wedding after a bottle of wine. It's still attached to this day
- Guests at reception dinners should be sat next to people they'll actually be likely to want to have a conversation with
- Only people with amusing friends and fathers should get married if you're going to have speeches
