Arrowflight: Island Nations - OOC Thread
« on: April 01, 2014, 09:32:43 am »

This is half interest check, half advertisement for an RPG I don't think many outside of the pacific northwest have heard of. I think I've learned from previous Play by Post mistakes and from playing another myself, and I'm ready to give this whole DMing thing another whirl.

All in all, Arrowflight is probably the P&P RPG I've had the most fun playing, and had the best stories from, especially having been an early playtester for the game. I have permission to hand out .pdfs of the main sourcebook and character sheet, but I also encourage you to buy your own copy if you can afford it. The character sheet .pdf is fully editable, and I've found that Foxit Reader seems to have a lot less problems with it than Acrobat.
There is also a magic/prayer sheet that I can give out if needed, also fully editable.
Another house rule of mine is that you don't need to roll your Lifeline randomly as long as it fits with your character's backstory. While it's perfectly fine to roll your Lifeline and build a backstory around that, I also like to have the opposite option.
Other than all that, have fun! I'll be accepting 7 players at first and possibly letting more play as time goes on.

Posting to reserve a spot. I'll be working on my sheet ASAP.

Also, this system is definitely related to Vampire: the Masquarade. Just thought I'd point that out.

It's definitely a common system, and I've seen variations on it in a lot of other games.

I'm not surprised. It's a pretty simple and effective system after all. Plus I've been playing V:tM recently, so it just stood out.

...

I really hope I can play a vampire in this game. Haven't cracked open the rulebook yet.

Well, there aren't really such things as "good vampires" in this setting. Vampyres usually go insane withing the few few weeks of their turning and the rest turn to forces of Chaos after being ignored by their gods. In any case, they don't really join the forces of good unless it's really in their best interest, and will take any chance they can to betray anyone they're working with.

I'd like to join. I can't download the rule books right now, but I'll look at them later today and get to work on my sheet.

I reserve a spot to post my character after I read the book and prepare complete profile.

It's time for the ATHATH Death Counter to increase once more in celebration for the end of the world.

I would like to play, just need to think of a character idea I would play.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

Current character idea is a flying samurai dude focused on combat. Sounds like a plan?

Posting to express interest, although I need to read the book properly before I'd make a sheet.

I'm interested but might have trouble posting a sheet due to a lack of a computer.

Wait, you've been doing RotMG from a phone or something?

I'm vaguely interested. This system looks a lot better-fleshed-out than the last minor P&P system I played in, so my hopes are high.
I'm thinking of doing a fairy something. As you can see, I'm still early in the character creation process.
