Neat, there's a thread for this.
I played LEGO racers again. It's still as fun as it was 8 or so years ago.
I also looked at the Bionicle sets I have assembled, and I still have the ones from about 2002, I think? I still remember reading the comic and watching the various movies made for the franchise.
Too bad they cancelled it, but it went on for about 7 years, so it least it lasted a really long time.

You know, I have a vague recollection of LEGO racers, I think It was more of a game I just picked up for only a day but I do remember it. And oh god Bionicles, man. Bionicles used to be the shit back ten or so years ago, I still remember those web games they used to have where you could explore around the world and find stuff.

Speaking of all of this... I remember when I was younger, probably 8 or so years, playing an online hot wheels game, it was more like a partial MMO where you did minigames to get points to unlock weapons and stuff for your car so you could race other people and defeat them. I remember having tons of fun with that, but one day it just disappeared and never heard about it again.  :-\

I remember when I bought bloody pants and teleported to Varrock, pretending to be a quest NPC. Nobody fell for it, but I had fun.
I... I think I remember you...

Does halotron_500 ring a bell? That's the only one I remember from many, many runescape accounts.

Oh, LEGO Racers! Just reading about it brought back some good memories. Years ago I installed it on the computers at primary school and everyone would always play it.

This also reminded me of LEGO Rock Raiders. I remember mining an entire level out just to get the resources to afford the best mining vehicle. It was completely pointless but damnit I wanted that vehicle. I think I still might have the disk somewhere...

BIG OL' WALL OF TEXT
If you mean the Mata Nui Online Game, both 1 and 2 are online on different websites. I can post the link for the first one if you want me to.
I still remember having some book or album that pretty much showed most of the events chronologically of the first saga. It had like the pictures of all the different Masks back then, in all the different colors there were, all the different Krana's and such. It looked really interesting, at least back then. I don't know where I've got it now, and I propably left it back in our old apartment when we moved.
I also had the first LEGO Star Wars on the old computer in our apartment. Since me and my brother didn't have invidual rooms like we do now, we had to always share our computer back then, and that's what made LEGO Star Wars so much fun, since we could both play at the same time rather than one having to watch the other.
But enough of that, I guess. I also remember having Doom and Wolfenstein 3d on that computer. I also still have some Bionicle CD's, with some of them showing the various Bohrok Kal animations and information, and some of them having puzzle games based off of the Metru Nui part.

Oh yeah, LEGO Racers! I remember I ALWAYS, ALWAYS overbuilt the car and so beating the penultimate boss was pure hell, because I didn't know it had any effect on speed.

That was propably LEGO racers 2, since I don't think you could increase/lower your speed in the first game.
I actually have the second game for some 4-5 years now, but I haven't tried it yet.
I borrowed it from a neighbor sometime before we moved, but it didn't work on the old computer for whatever reason.
I might download it sometime just to try it out, I guess.

I can't even remember my own accounts name, it's been years. But I remember there was one guy who tried to convince people to do fetch quests for him, always asking them to bring different stuff, or to attack some powerfull NPC so they would die, stuff like that.

Then you get cities like Paris where you should basically just kill yourself already.

You won’t have to think anymore: it’ll be just like having fun!

Since there are other threads for being; sad, happy, ragey(?) and wtf. We might as well have one for Nostalgia. :P

My nostalgia of the day is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7Qo2QZ8NE8

Runescape was my first ever MMO I ended up playing and was one of my first multiplayer experiences when I was younger. Lets just say it made a lasting impact on a lot of the things I do.

I miss old Runescape so much. It was great because it was janky, low-budget and weird, not despite it. In retrospect, I actually developed a lot of terrible habits during the time I played Runescape, but I still adore the memories. I remember when everybody would sell stuff behind the bank in Varrock, back before the Grand Exchange opened. Good times.

I used to play Runescape pretty much every single day. This would've been, like... 9 or 10 years ago? I was kind of sad to log in recently and find out how much had changed. (They killed Guthix :'()

I remember playing frontline. I always shot at people's feet, which was a terrible idea but they jumped around and I thought it was funny. That's probably why I died so much.

Spoiler: "Rules" (click to show/hide)

My nostalgia of the day is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7Qo2QZ8NE8

How's about some rules in the OP, Sinless? :)

You ask, and you shall receive!

All this stuff about Runescape really makes me sad and nostalgic. Even if you were to go back it would never be the same, you'll miss out on that experience, because basically you were just dropped into this world without really any explanation and you had to figure it out all by yourself. That's something I'll always miss, and being a wide-eyed... 8 year old? (Oh jeeze, 10 years ago already? ) It was just incredibly fascinating and I would spend days just wandering around the world exploring.
Dohohoho, I do remember those days!

Like when I was finding Lumbridge (yeah, no EZ MAP then). Had to ask a traveler for aid (woohoo, follow function) after being assaulted by a highwayman until we went in front of that ol' castle.
I figured the bridge was the name. Because bridge. xD
And yes. The exploration.
Nowadays its POINT CURSOR THIS and COLORED RECTANGLE THAT and MOVE TO THIS LOCATION and ARROW SIGN OVER YOUR FACE.
 :'(

On that note: They have player-capes. 5/10 year specialty capes that look awesome and have awesome stats.
I wear that as my mourning dress.

Related: When I see good RTDs out: I always remember my first time in this forum (with this forum being my first actual forum I joined :D). Seeing the colored words with the nice (abbr) tag, hidden descriptions, special skills, customized effects, brilliant wording...

While little has changed now (other than minimalists sprouting like...weeds. :I Yeah I don't like minimalists), whenever I see a well-written work, it brings back those memories of bliss and awe.

I think I've synesthesia on that matter.

Reminds me of the olden days.

I used to be obsessed with knights-- I got ahold of temple knight armor and once spent half my wallet on a runesword at the grand exchange. I had like all the F2P quests done and went near broke from spending money on my house.

At first, I just ran around with the guy who got me into the game and did random stuff, not sure how the game worked or anything. The excitement of adventure, eh?

However, they started to come out with the crappy WoW-imitating graphics. They also stopped producing mid-level stuff, instead loading the game with newbie quests and quests for hardened veterans. This, coupled with the fact I got minecraft right about then, led to my decline of playing.

EDIT: Do the names "linklindude5", "Sir Tensalot", or "Sir Harry Delvin" ring a bell to anyone? If so, you saw me.

MOAREDIT:
-snip- I always shot at people's feet, which was a terrible idea but they jumped around and I thought it was funny. That's probably why I died so much.

That reminds me of even further back.

Before I got into RPGs, my uncle had a GameCube, and with it Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door. I never got past the first expository scene with the door because I had no clue what you were supposed to do, but I kept jumping into the river until I died because I thought Mario jumping out of the river screaming was hilarious.

Yeah, that was weird how they killed him off. Runescape was the game I would just play for hours every day, it was one of those games where you just kept finding something new to do.

Aww, I don't think that was me then. I only did it once and gave up pretty quick.

I became nostalgic for a time I wasn't even a part of, because of the The Grand Budapest Hotel which I saw and thought was a wonderful movie. Although I also like Terry Gilliam movies so this may have given me that vibe.

Running Legend: Son of the Empire under DosBox.

I remember spending hours playing this, mixing spells, blasting some extremely strange monsters, trying to keep the Berserker leveling at the same rate as the rest of the party, panicking about getting antimage runes after acquiring Occam's Razor...
