melting creatures

So I was making my race based on snakes and dwarves, trying to make a reptillian humanoid race capable of dual-wielding halberds. Everything was going ok until... The game crashes when I try to start a world.
So I thought, ok, I can fix this. I checked the error log, and I edited and edited for hours, slaving away until I fixed every single problem.
It still crashes.
so I checked the errorlog, and nope- nothing. I fixed all of the problems. So I thought, ok, maybe object testing arena will give me some answers.
so I tried it, and lo! I could spawn them! They worked! I assumed control! I took a step forward!
I then melted and bled to death. I got dozens of messages about melting, and then bled to death.
also, I tried the entity mod with dwarves and that worked, and I tried the game with the creatures not having an entity, which also worked.

so, any idea whats going on?

Could you post the creature's raws?

It would be a bit easier to tell what is wrong when we can actually see it. But if it keeps melting, it may be an issue with the creature's body temperature.

Fat melts at 10078, but your creature has a body temperature (homeotherm) of 10083, which is what causes them to melt.

And you may want to put raws within a code tag. It helps keep the information from taking up too much space.

One way to fix the melting is to lower your creature's homeotherm, which is what I have done in the code below, and another is to select the creature's materials and change their melting, boiling, and heat damage points.

I've tried making a few worlds, and I haven't had any crashes yet.

Is there anything else you modded in other than your creature?

um, there was a few other things. But when I removed the creature, it worked. So if it works for you I dont know why it isnt working for me...
odd. Should I try reinstalling?

so I reinstalled the game and put my mod back in but it still doesnt work. Dont know what to do.

I'm not quite sure what could be causing it, as I seem to have it working. I had altered the dwarven entity to use your creature instead of dwarves.

It may be another modification interfering. What other mods do you have in the game? The difference in our raws may be why it works for me but not you, unless the only thing you added back after reinstalling was your creature.

I added some colors and eyes to go with the creature, and I have an entity file. Maybe the entity file is interfering?
EDIT: I have confirmed the entity file is malfunctioning! I will post it here momentarily. (it works with Dwarf entity.)

All of your permitted reactions are defined twice, and that could certainly be causing problems. You've also got two sets of ethics, but that should be harmless (the second set will override the first one).

Is there anything interesting in errorlog.txt?

also i don't know if APP_MOD_DESC matters with tissue colorations? I don't play around much with that so idk. also the second eye coloring is at the very bottom. I remember a crash issue when a tissue is colored twice, DF just gets confused. but also thought I saw Toady say he fixed that (was mainly related to transformations and viewing the creatures description)

ok I will try that. So far though the entity doesnt work, although I fixed all problems that have been fond other than the eye color thing. Also which file is the eye color in?
