((Where are our men currently? Are they inside or outside the town?))

((Okay))
Begin slowly moving towards the bandit encampment. While we are moving: send out all the spearmen, one crossbow vintener, and eight or ten of our best and most patient crossbowmen. We ourselves will also go. Have the crossbowmen train the spearmen in the art of ambushing and remaining unseen. They should be able to remain completely hidden as the main group passes them by the time we are within two hour's march of the bandits. While we are at it, the most promising of the spearmen should cross-train with a crossbow so that they can use it with some skill if need be.

We have no idea where the bandits are beyond an extremely large stretch of forest. Narrower then the entire forest but not nearly enough for us to be splitting our forces up on terrain we don't know in the face of an unknown number of enemies.

Beneviento did our men have the rest day already to replenish morale and condition? Also how much is a single pack horse I don't think I ever got that answer.

To dalhurst!

Where according to our bandit comrade the larger bandit group is.

Also, why do we care about the pack mules? So long as they carry our stuff we're good.

Dalhurst is the town we're currently in. A packhorse should cost about *checks price list* 5 crowns? We've rested for one day so far.

We don't have horses yet which means we can only take the supplies we can carry on our packs because we can't take carts into a forest. Horses can cover the ground with us which vastly increases how long we can operate before returning to town.

Each horse can carry 2 days supplies for the company so buying 5 gives us a 10 days supply before we need to return to town then we'd still have just under 10 more days to do a second run if needs be.

Buy 5 horses and fully load them with supplies. Go to the forest and search for the bandits camp, keep the spearmen with the main party and use crossbow men as scouts.

Minus 1

We're Also ran forestors. Let's just carry the loot on our backs.

packhorses +1, its silly to expect to always be able to carry everything on our backs. Heck, even guerrilla forces dont carry everything on their backs, atleast not most of the time, and then not for long.

Agreed, +1. Being able to sustain an operation for a prolonged period of time is to our advantage, and also increases our chances of becoming a target by these bandits.

...

Actually, let's see if we can make our own wagons while someone goes off to buy those horses. Even if we don't succeed, it'll encourage camaraderie between the men, and possibly increase morale. If we do, we can carry more supples and/or move men with greater speed (in the long term) while using them as bandit bait (in the short term).

Wagons can't really travel through the forest off the path. And are noisy as hell.

From a hunting/scout band to a full fledged paramilitary.

Okay. Then but yeah no wagons, that'll just make it harder to be mobile.

We arent paramilitary...
Its just that a scout group and paramilitary forces share many of the same logistical things.

Wagons will be useful in future but not for this task.

We are seeing if we can make our own wagons. We can always sell them to some merchants for cheap on the terms that they be bait. Or just sell them.
