Point out to the dude that you are there to get people out of the bar, and not there to drink.

"What if I told you... Warded, The Dole's Upkeep." You say. "Look, I'm trying to get people out of that place, not drink. I'm a mercenary looking for recruits."

"What if I told you I don't give a fig for your nonsense and recruiting." The zealot shoots back, "If you are a challenge from Entos, I will face you without wavering. You'll have to knock me down to get inside that tavern, and you won't be able to do that." He clearly wants to fight you, and sees it as a challenge of his bravery and prowess from his God, but it's still your choice to fight him or not. Your attempt at negotiation was admirable, but he's having none of it.

(Is this railroady? I like the Picardesque negotiating, but this guy was meant to confront you, and the rolls were not in your favor.)

We have our body guards right?

Ask them quietly to grab his arm and legs. Then throw him into a barrel.

"Sorry, but I need to get inside here. With or without your approval."

Or if not possible fisticuffs.

"Last chance. You got ten seconds to move aside."
Wait ten seconds, bop him on the head, Tie him up, have a guy watch him and go in to recruit.
When we exit untie him.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Alright, that looks like quite the consensus. I don't have time to write right now, but later today or tomorrow there'll be an update.

Yes, yes it is. I've just been somewhat busy (And also I had no idea where the priest thing was really going). Here's an update.

You give the man one more chance to move, but although he shifts his weight from foot to foot, he stands firm and does not reply. You try to disguise your next move by approaching while telling him an inane story about another encounter with religious men, but he sees it coming and readies himself.

As you decide that your honor will not stomach the insults he has given you, you quickly let loose a jab at his face. It catches him high on the cheekbone, rather than the jaw, and he rears back. You try to finish the fight quickly with another hit, but he blocks it and gives you a surprisingly mighty blow in the body. You, however, see an opening as he has left himself too close to you. You grab him in a bear-hug, pinning his arms to his sides and raking your forehead down across his nose. You release him and although he is still conscious, he falls over backwards and it is clear he is out of the fight. His companions quickly pick him up by the arms and hustle him away, their eyes shooting daggers at you, while he spills some spiel about Entos and revenge.

Unfortunately, because of the preaching the men had been doing outside, along with the commotion your little scuffle has caused, no one of interest remains in the tavern. Thus, you decide to stop by a few of the merchant houses in town, to see if they have any information or offers of interest. However, you learn only scattered snippets, although it seems that Delman was right about the larger group north of Dalhurst. In all, though, it's been a productive day, with some armor bought for the spearmen, rations replenished, and a good little fight to top it all off.

What will you do now?
