Might I also recommend we put glass onto the market of various types?

The process to make ampules is stone cutting gets sand, foundry turns sand into glass, jeweler turns glass into products. Currently there is just single units of glass and large amounts of it flies off of the market.

That is actually an interesting idea, setting up guilds to create specific products...such as a potion making guild, it would be roughly 5 people to do the chain and create tons of said product...I"ll flush this idea out later then post it as a large one.

I'm ready and willing to start cranking out vials and such, but without a good source of glass and tools (particularly tools), I've mostly left it alone, only skilling up when mats come along.

Glass takes buttfucks of time to create. it's not worth it economically. In the time it takes to make a single piece of glass. I can make a hundred chisels or blades and sells them. Getting me close to 80s. Unless I sell glass at a ridiculous price. It's just not worth. And the effort costs for it are amazingly high.

If you're going to get the idea worked out, please include skill levels, energy, and time requirements.  I'd like to see at what point could a few individuals churn out product easily, and especially if they could double up on the job more easily.  For instance, it takes HOURS to burn Cassiterite into Copper Nuggets into Ingots, but relatively little time harvesting coal or producing tools, so there's a much higher need for foundry workers than there is weaponsmiths.  I wonder if the glass line demands more of a particular job than another.

I'm ready and willing to start cranking out vials and such, but without a good source of glass and tools (particularly tools), I've mostly left it alone, only skilling up when mats come along.
Name what tools you need and what skill is able to build those tools.

it takes about the same length of time to make glass it does copper nuggets. And you only get a single sheet of glass.

Ugh tell me about it. I've spent almost a day straight smelting before. The time required to make copper ingots might also feed into its 3 silver+ price per ingot.

That's not the issue. The issue is that very few smiths are going to be willing to make it. Not unless they will sell it for damn high prices to make up for the coins they will have lost since they chose not to make other items. At least coins wise. I suppose they might be willing to make it in exchange for sets of potions or something. I don't know much about anything in the game not related to my profession.

I've got a couple 22 herb/3str mortars available.  I'll be putting them up on the market for a gold or so tonight.  Message me if you want one and I'll cod it to you for less.

Then sell if for more, potions already cost a huge amount.  Charge what you feel is worth your time, doing otherwise would be INSANE.  All you would do is make the jewelers charge more per ampule.

The best people to make the glass are the smiths that are starting out. They don't have the options to make larger amounts of coins selling massed consumables. That's probably one of the best ways for them to gain coin early on. And eh, You have a point. I probably shouldn't go generalized my own opinion. I doubt I'll ever make glass unless I get requests for it.

Though, I get the point that several people have pointed out now.

I've actually got a 13 hour stint of pure cassiterite smelting on queue.  I set up 100 energy worth of smelting, used those premium biscuits to recover 50 energy, queued 50 more, ate another...

Let it be known that to any individual making glass ampoules, I am willing to pay you whatever amount it takes, presuming it's not above 10-15 silver per ampoule. Most potions seem to go for around that, with variation.

Prepare for a flood of crappy glass ampoules, because I can make them by the boatload as long the NPC shops don't run out of stock.

So just out of curiosity, what'd be the cheapest we could start a guild?  Assuming minimum membership, and really just serving as a place where several machines are in the same place, what'd be the most bare bones gold cost?  Also assume no materials are bought, but entirely gathered by members.
