30000 divided four ways sounded like a nice chunk of change. That also meant the job would likely be difficult. Shaundra yawned and stretched. She didn't really want to put her life at further risk, but that money could go a long way in funding future travels. Or hell, she could buy some land somewhere and settle down. There was a lot she could do with a quarter share.

"Guess so, far as I'm concerned. And a longbow should do fine."

Picking an Iron Longbow if there are no objections.

"Weapons aren't of much use to me. But I'll go along with it for now at least. Don't have anywhere else to go and money is money."

Torben's eyes almost lit up when the promise of 30000 of gold was mentioned.
:"Well hell, that seems like as good a new source of gold as any! I'm in. Don't even need any weapons, I'm in."

Jyggalag shrugs and grabs an Iron Lance.

"Looks like I was right! Travel buddies, and happy to have the three of you."

"Which way should we go, do you think?"

"Well, their boss went north I'm pretty sure. So probably heading that way would make sense."

"Ran off? Thought Ben killed him. But north is as good a direction as any."

Jyggalag points to the northern road and starts clanging that way.

Shaundra shrugged at Alima and Torben, then fell into step behind Jyggalag.

As they started to head out, Alima shrugged.
"Naw, there was some guy who headed off at the start. I'm assuming that's the boss at least. Someone took the gem. I'm assuming it's the guy who left then."

"Ah, I didn't see him. Could be him then. Makes sense to hunt him down."

:"North it is! I bet we can kick this guy's ass anyway, as long as we play it smart."

And the party headed north
A day passes

A group of bandits hide from another group of soldiers
:"Damn it, how did Clangendum get ahead of us?"
:"They didn't."
The bandit leader spins around at the cloaked figure
:"Oh, it just you. What do you mean?"
:"Their emblems are scratched."
The bandit leader looks
:"Deserters. That just means they won't arrest us."
:"I have some now good news. We are being followed."
The bandit looks at the spy
:"How, pray tell, is that good news?"
The spy smiles
:"Relax, just make sure the gem get to ours employer. I'll take care of both problems."
He disappears.

Meanwhile...
:"Just hand over your stuff and no one get hurt."
A mage and priest looked at one another. One wrong turn, and they ended in the state of bandits and now they were getting mugged. It was one of those days.
Now another group of bandits just walked by.
:"What are they in a hurry about?"

:"Oh. That a lot of deserters. And a group of travelers are about to walk into their ambush! We got to help them."
The muggees look at the bandit
:"What? Oh right, mugging. Rain check?"
