Nice one. I've just gone back to schooling after a long hiatus, starting a PhD last September.

Hmm well, I passed all of my exams so I should get my first MS degree sometime this year. I think I'm officially done with schooling for the foreseeable future. No way I want to do more graduate school right now.

Congrats, and good call on retiring from schooling.  When I finished my schooling, I knew I was DONE.  Someone at that time suggested I go back for another year.  My response was...not nice.

I wanna go and get my Master's in computer science, so I can prove I know things instead of math, which I don't really know anything about.

Computer Science is what I'm getting my degree in this time too. I don't feel I know masses about the subject as a whole but I know loads about one tiny bit of it.

That's usually how computer stuff goes. Shallow knowledge of lots of areas with a pocket or two of deep knowledge.

Even though I am a software engineer by trade, I have a Masters’ degree in Political Science. (Originally got the degree so I could go into teaching, decided to do a career change, went through an accelerated learning program to learn software engineering, started programming...)

My first two degrees were in philosophy, so it's a bit of a segue.

I got my degree in CS.  I went into IT and am now in networking, so I'm not using it much at all now.


...except now there's a lot of automation happening in the field now that uses Python so I guess I need to get off my butt and learn it at some point.
