The units up front notice the chest across the bridge has two locks -- one for each key. It's too bad they're almost finished with the mission. They probably won't even get to use whatever's inside!

Sakura accepts the key from Fezzina, takes the key that Julia is holding, and using Levitation moves to (4,2) and opens the chest!

Sakura moves to open the chest. She turns both keys at once, pops the top, and finds a tiny blue whistle sitting at the bottom.

The rest of the group starts moving to the throne room but stops when the floor collapses in front of them. A trail of darkness lead into Vernon's hands as he speaks... from where? Griff looks over his shoulder. The dark trail is coming from Queen Valerie!

Alyssa struggles to keep her balance as the castle shakes. It feels like - are they FALLING? They are! The castle is falling! Candy looks over the platforms as they transform beneath his feet. The sea turns black-violet, and the walls erupt with purple crystals.

: "This is what you wanted, Valerie? For our reign to go on in your absence? SO BE IT! ANIMA FURTUM!"

PLAYER TURN 22

The transformation is complete. In a flash of light, Vernon's new soul brings him to life -- as something very NON-human. The Nightmare King stares everyone down from the remains of throne room (but does not speak).

: "What-- Oh, Efa, this is it! This has to be the Great Justice, ridding the dream world of a nightmarish evil. Aren't you excited?"

Her eyes gazed across the void of darkness and despair, at pools of vile purple liquid. Her heart sank deep into her chest as she glanced at her allies. So young. So... Precious. Here they are, a new world opening up in front of them; only to be staring death in the face. They needed her. Especially Sheldon and Leona. No. None of them would die here. Not today. Not any day.

Her gripped tightened on the battle broom. It was time to take out the trash. Her eyes twinkled, and as if to release a great pressure Miguella laughed. Hysterically. This was going to be fun.

: "HOOHOOHOOHOOOHOOO!!! A good show my dear, but you will NOT be defeating us today! LEGENDARY WARRIORS! Aaasssseeeemble!"

RIDE!!! to 7,7 and lash out against the VILE ORB OF MAGIC with THE BATTLEBROOME!!! Then Canto to 8,8.
