After taking another minute to think, Rhogar breathes Dragonfire onto the handprint.

Thank Keyleth, and see what the others are up to.

Rhogar breathes fire onto the handprint, and the letters rearrange to ".hguone esolc hE" The wall panel slides back to reveal a rapier shaped to look like lightning. (You have rapier proficiency, right?)

That leaves Erza, who has stood there doing nothing the entire time, and Damirion, still pondering over a way to pass the green fire.

Untie the sconce and return to the main room, taking twenty on the wall. Once up, I'll undo all the knots and return the extra rope.

((You can only take twenty when failing has no repercussions. However, the spiked walls have created a floor over where the pit was-- sorry if I was vague before.))

Perrin returns to the main room. All that is left is for Erza and Damirion to take their challenges on and claim their prizes.

((I do have rapier proficiency.))
Taking the rapier from the wall, Rhogar examines it closely, ((religion, arcana, history, nature, and dungeoneering checks)) attempting to discern if it has some religious significance, is magical, is a famous historical blade, or is poisoned.

((Why didn't I think of that? ::)))

Following Rhogar's example, I stare intently at my sword, attempting to discern its properties, both normal, and interesting.

((Well, when in Rome...))

Keyleth lays the headband in front of her and examines it in every way she knows how, trying to determine its properties.

((Also Taw, I think its time to call up the Delinquent Players thread again...))

(I understand.)
The obstacle course is about 40 feet long and seems to be mostly made out of just fire. Ray of Frost melts almost immediately, but where the water touches the fire just disappears, instead of the water putting it out. However, the fire springs back up in about twelve seconds.

Keyleth, from what you can discern, the headband seems to subtly glow. It seems to augment the mind's perceptive and insight powers, after you momentarily try it on. It seems to carry no curse.

Rhogar, by swinging the rapier around a little, it seems to crackle with electricity when used.

Perrin, your short sword seems to drip some sort of acid or poison when swung.

Erza takes note of what's left to explore and what others seem to have trouble doing.

David does what everyone else is doing with their weapons, but also checks out the others' weapons.
((If I discover anything new, I may grant them now checks.))

Damirion follows his course of action and reaches the end of the course, discovering a pedestal with a staff in it. The staff is cold to the touch.

Erza finds a door unopened and untouched. Opening it reveals a stone guardian in front of a door. He booms, "NO MAN SHALL PASS ME."

David investigates Cromwell's hammer and discovers that it creates loud sounds when struck against things.

The staff is icy cold, but it feels refreshing. The fire disappears as you pick it up. A quick magical test shows you that your spells seem to be a bit more powerful, if icy.

"It's rather obvious, isn't it?"
David approaches the door, and sticks his flammard into the appropriate slot, not letting go.

"Oh, hey, a riddle."

Walk over to the loud statue and engage it in conversation.

"How about a halfling? A woman? What if you came with the hypothetical man?"
