Posting to lurk. If someone eats it, I might hop in, but it looks like it's probably full now...

I've written up David's backstory.
Tawarochir, do you mind if I import some very class specific lore, a small amount of astrology and some lore from my theme?

Quickedit: I'm having a hard time deciding on my feat. Should I take an effective +5 to initiative, a Wild Talent, or Linguist?

Alright, this is comin' on well.

I'm just going to set up a 10-by-10 grid map in gimp and draw in major things (people, impassable tiles, difficult terrain, etc....)

I have a first quest and a rather silly second one written up, I'll just wait until I have enough people here.
Sounds good! I found the link to a dungeon maker, which you can screenshot for use as encounter maps; but if you've already got something going for that, that's cool too.

Here's a sheet for Lord Rhogar Firehand of the Dragonborn.

I have a question about house rules: in the rules, it states that we can get our weapons silvered, at a cost of 500 gp. Could I get my armor silvered, at the same price, and if so, would I gain a bonus to charisma?

Sure, I guess, although it would only be like a trim. Full silver armor would cost you about 5000 gp. Also, with your rather good reasoning, a plus one or two bonus would be logical. So, go ahead once you have the coinage.
I was actually thinking of suggesting it costing 5k, but then i was like, "That's a lot of money. Quick, irl diplomacy check!" I also thought of the excuse that while it would require more material, it would need less skill, because with armor, it is kind of hard to decrease the effectiveness by plating it, but on a weapon, you could easily dull the edge or change the balance.

Trim sounds like good middle ground though; cheaper, with less of a bonus. Thanks.

I shall make a character when I feel like it. I'll probably see what roles are covered by the current party, and then completely ignore it and make what I feel like.
If you make a leader, I will find where you live, and smack you silly.
You kidding? I don't need a team, Mastahcheese roams like a lone wolf, hunting in the night, fighting evil by twilight.

...Maybe I should be a rogue.

Or maybe a ranger, rangers are fun. Whichever you go with, you should just completely stack your stealth and thievery, and see how long you can sneak around robbing the party's loots before we catch you. And possibly execute you.

On the question of role play depth a couple pages ago, I prefer it if there is no meta gaming; obviously we can talk about meta game stuff, but just don't use that knowledge in character. I find that it makes it funner, and since it isn't in person, it's a lot less embarrassing to use a different voice and such.

So basically just be a total twitbag? Hmm...

I'd not allow that. I'd take you under my wing and show you the benefits of being nice to people. In other words, I'd force you to be nice to others.

You've been warned.

Mark my words.

Alright, I made my character.

He's a Half-Elf Warlock/Ranger, who's multi-classing Fighter, and took a Cleric power through his Half-Elf training.
Forget all of you, I am amazing, and I built him as a melee character.

I'll continue with my character when I get back home from work.
Am not completely done yet. Need a background and such.
So far tough, I am having a writer's block or something.. Don't know where to start.

Dammit, when I check up on this, it seems like someone has taken my warlock idea! Dang.

Any ideas on what exactly this group needs? A controller or something else?

Did someone say Controller?

Shardmind Psion at your service. Will probably be updating the sheet with backgroundy stuff later.

Been developing my character a bit, personality and background.
Feel free to tell me when something doesn't add up or you have suggestions.

We have no sneaky people. It's not really an official role, and generally they act as strikers, but sneaky people can be very helpful outside of combat, and for scouting areas right before a fight starts. Just as long as you don't take my suggestion about stealing our stuff and being a general annoyance. Never mind, I was wrong.

What do you mean, no stealth types? I took stealth and thievery.

We really need a controller or someone who can attack from range. All we have are melee characters.
