It's funny how the on ship thread title left over from the pill incident also fits the current incident. Although I find it curious how that shocking recent turn of events hasn't sparked in piecewise the desire to come up with a more enlightning title. Perhaps his long exposure to accidental mass murder events has left him with some resistance to such things.

Absolutely.  The man lived in a room for most of his life with minimal human contact.

Yet he correctly spotted that Vanessa was willing to loan him a token, so he might actually be pretty good at reading people. It's that he doesn't necessarily tell people what he read about them, just some convenient lies (say, to lower their defenses around him next time). That, or, deep down, under the steel shell of "inhumanity" Xan has a large, soft, sympathetic heart.

Or maybe Exo if you have the right things in your head.
