So here I have a question. Say, my current character meets her end somehow and I'm making a new one. Can I shoot ahead and say it was someone from Hephaestus or some other place that seeked out the ARM and joined? I mean, how would such a person end up on Sword?

Yep, I think that can be arranged. Making a character specifically from that children pool might require a few years to pass (you know, they haven't even been born yet), but that was, as I said, one of the reasons behind this project. But otherwise, yes, there probably can be an odd volunteer from here or there; wiki already reflects that by suggesting alternative "Reason to join ARM" as opposed to "Reason assigned to HMRC".

Aaaand the public interest fades. Yet another "atrocity" we might have committed. Sic transit gloria mundi...

On infertility and cancer from stasis-pod usage: I have brought up this topic with PW at some point (IIRC, back then when it was revealed that massive fleshknitter use is also likely to give you cancer), and he said basically this: 1)it is not instanteous/guaranteed; 2)there is a non-zero chance, though; 3)if you have travelled around a lot, you should probably check yourself, but otherwise you are almost certainly free of such afflictions.

That's... a good question. One that I'd like an answer to. Though, given the state of biology these days (we can even engineer viruses to produce genetic changes in cells! Too bad this resulted in creation of the Altered, IIRC from that one ER talk, so now we mostly don't do it), I'd hazard a guess that yes, we can. So far, there has not been mentioned anything that we cannot help save for total destruction of the neural matter.
Though saving the person from cancer and restoring/curing their whole body from it might cost tokens, as usual with regrowing body parts.

I'm pretty sure the IVAN treatment could cure cancer, or at least manage it in a Deadpool kind of way. With that in mind, it should also be pretty doable in other ways. Worst comes to worst, you take a brain out of a body with late stage cancer, cut out all the cancerous bits from the brain if there are any, then apply perfected regeneration tech to regrow the entire body, bits of brain included.

I want to see someone take IVAN treatment and be shot with various weapons just before mission starts. Have his bones broken and fingers torn off repeatedly until he's buffed enough. Maybe give him self-torture suit? Have your body on constant edge in exchange for constant pain.

I thought that we could probably enhance IVAN treatment utilizing data acquired from Haebi research. The mechanisms in work here seem pretty similar, if you think of it. Maybe it won't increase overall efficieny much, but hopefully a better understanding of the process will allow for cost to drop.

Unfortunately, most shuttle rides to the missions take some time, which might be enough for pw to justify you starting each mission as a (mostly) normal dude.
