The manips were always brains, it's just more explicit now.
Of course. We figure out anything else about them?
They're safer to use under the new system. Amplifiers are less precise and more dangerous. And that's besides the ominous fact piecewise has the wiki tracking every amp use from this point on.
What's been happening while I've been drooling on myself? We get the... TRON thing worked out? How'd the missions go? I hear EXTREME PING PONG is the hip new thing amongst newbies?
Missions 16-18 have finished up. The diplomacy mission was hypercompetent, for once, and that planet is now our ally. The other two were more mixed bags, with almost half a dozen permadeaths on one and only a partial success on the other, due to someone building a manipulator-like computer from spare parts and then frying a lot of electronics, including some of the data they were trying to retrieve.
The on-ship event is indeed over, leaving the ship in quite a mess. We're getting a completely redesigned section. Piecewise took votes for it, and was on IRC talking to us while he was working on the new section, so we influenced it then, too.
The next set of missions is about to leave. One is to take over an automated UWM ship with a ton of gunnerbot-likes on-board that could potentially blow up from a single stray shot, the other is
a meat grinder a visit to a world taken over entirely by the Haebi. We're going to try to cut a nerve cluster out of it. The ship mission has to succeed for survivors to even get off the planet again. Oh, and the planetside mission is ~80% zero mission newbies, because all of the veterans seem to have wandered off somewhere.
