Reading back it seems newbies (Mir, Dainiel) and Lyra were promised Mk 3 suit for mission 17, but Mir switched to mission 18 and Illgeo took his spot. So I think technically he should have Mk 3.

Easy. Difficult tasks cause people to approach them with caution, forethought, and finesse. People get sloppy when they're given an easy task to do. Easy tasks are also often "boring", and boredom is more dangerous than a squad of Sods with a battlesuit.

This is very true, especially in real life. Think about all the major disasters caused by humans? How many of them were during a brand new, ground breaking event? Now how many of them were caused by someone making a simple mistake or ignoring guidelines?

Oh sure, I understand why the mistakes are made. It's just that the magnitude of the screw-ups on simple tasks never ceases to amaze me. And they never even occur the way I think they will!
