This is Roll to Dodge, so why not have the roll to dodge (i.e. dex) determine where the hit lands, combined with any roll of the attacker, and the End roll determine how bad the damage is?

Perhaps most effectively though, Endurance could degrade with consecutive hits taken. A temporary penalty shouldn't be too hard to keep track of.

Might turn this into too much of a traditional RPG though.

Small problem: that then DEX would become even more massively imbalanced. I mean, dex is perhaps the single most important stat, because it gets rolled for all the time.

So, what material exists in ER that is cheap, easy to use, flexible, and ridiculously resistant to temperatures?

With some restrictions implanted. Can't let anyone else start harnessing the power of the flesh - plus it'd be OOC for me not to be paranoid about that.
But yeah something like that. It wouldn't be cheap though.

I'm gonna browse the wiki at one point and cheat, but my initial guesses would be Chem-Off, Battlesuit plate, the stuff they make civic longcoats out of, the stuff they make AoW cloaks out of-

How about one with a Xan brain included? Cheaper or more expensive?

Rather unfortunately for me, I can't try getting a speech roll discount for Charles since it's speech vs. willpower, the latter of which Xan has a colossal quantity of.

For the xanbrain to direct the shapeshifting? Uh.
I'm gonna have to think about this, honestly. Maybe cheaper because then shapeshifting would be more cumbersome, but have less limitations.
Probably gonna do more custom orders than anything standardized just so I don't have to think up an item list

I've no idea what stevebots are other than that they're basically space fighter jets shaped like snowflakes, so I'd guess they'd be rather ridiculously expensive if they were.

Still, could be interesting cutting one down to component parts, making them modular, and seeing if they could be implemented into a combat unit at an economically viable cost.

Though for some reason I'm really interested in my character being a purist, like not getting any visible mechanical or genetic upgrades.
Dunno why, just seems interesting to me.
Though that doesn't mean I'm going to turn down a 1-time super upgrade! obviously.

Basic answer: nope, probably not happening. Because stripping off what makes them expensive removes what makes them special.
