Gah... upgrading my character is so expensive... every time i wanna add a new weapon i either have to ditch my current one or buy another 5-10 token hardpoint...

I cant even kill Xan and visit the doc for an upgrade because hes on haphaestus and id lose 30+ tokens worth of purchased gear...

He's back on the Sword now, as I recall. Came in with the last shipment full of shiny new laser toys and suits that have been almost entirely ignored.

Though I'm fairly sure he gave us another clone...

Yeah, I did. I'd ask to revive that one too, but it seems a little unfair to have two iterations of the same character running around.

Missed out on the suits. Are they mk1 or 2 modified? What's the price on them?

I tend just to read the threads my character is involved in, otherwise too much OOC planning comes into play. I felt bad grabbing a death-laser considering my character's current over-arsenal. But if he survives mission 18, he really wants a suit.

I'm still against handing out super-powers like candy. It removes any idea of character progression. But whatever, it ain't my game.

I've actually got a theory. The more free stuff your character gets given, but either doesn't use or uses poorly, the more likely that your character will get paid poorly or die. Similarly, the more off-the-standard-books stuff your character has, thus making ER a paperwork and game-mechanics nightmare for pw, the more likely bad things are to happen to you. Charge a Con roll as an action? Yeah, right, whatever. That roll might be more likely to work, except for the fact that you just caused more pointless note-keeping, so something worse will now happen to you shortly. Possibly everyone else around you as well, depending on pw's mood.
