((Bit of a belated reply, but i had shit that needed doing.))
He said he'd take responsibilty as the leader of the mission yes, but did he ever say he acknowledged your right to judge him?
And for some people access to xeno fuckery is the entire reason they play, so barring them from it is way more that a slap on the wrist.
How would you like it if i came along and told you that you couldnt have any magic tech and you had to return your id manifestor and white mask? you'd tell me to go fuck myself and play with them anyway.
He trusted you to do the reasonable thing and dock his pay or fine him or something, but you tried to strip him of what made him Maurice. So he fucked your authority in the ass, nothing out of the ordinary there.
As for this being a time where we cant fuck around, thats kind of a double edged sword. If you have the time to fuck around and strip him of his rank and find a replacement, he has time to fuck around defending his position and access to xeno fuckery.
Before I begin anything, I'd just like to point out that I didn't judge anyone. All I did was give tesimony. So my "authority" (whatever you mean by that) isn't at stake here. As for the judgement, I think here we've got some IC and OOC bleedover. IC, the judgement is law for Pan, so he doesn't have any problems with it. OOC, I have no problem with Nik trying to get out from it. And yes, I would tell you to go fuck yourself if you'd try to take away my magic tech and I completely understand what Nik is doing. But like I said, that doesn't mean that IC Pan is for giving Maurice back his toys.
As for pulling out the magic stone being a threatening act, if you go back and read his speech he goes on to explain why he pulled it out. he pulled it out not to threaten you, but to explain what it was and why he needed to keep his access to heph and xeno fuckery.
Because he wants to use it to make a weapon against the lurker, he cant do that if he's barred from experimenting with xeno fuckery.
So all in all im 100% on his side in this, he never once threatened anything but your authority.
Like others have said, pulling a loaded gun in a room full of twitchy soldiers. Let's also not forget Pan saw firsthand what that could do, so understandibly he's wary. It's all nice and dramatic to pull that out, but that constitutes as threatening in my book. He could also just have mentioned the orb and his plans with it without holding it in his hand in the same room as we're in, even if he did then put it on the ground within arm's reach of himself. OOC I'm sure Nik has only the best of intentions, though.
Also, again with the authority, of which I never had any in this case.
so just to be clear, my problem isnt that you said he made a power grab, he most definitely did that as his means of keeping space magic.
its that he made it explicitly clear he wasnt going to, and never intended to, threaten anything with the timmy orb. to which your immediate response was to claim that he was threatening you with the timmy orb.
Perhaps the way we view how these actions played out is different, but regardless of what he
said, I can't help but view this as threatening. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
