That is an incredibly understated worst case scenario, NAV. 
At worst, you create a massively powerful alien god of shields and it annihilates the universe.

Second worst: You accidentally chop off your own head attempting to make the shield.
Third, more realistic worst: You trust your flimsy shield to protect you instead of dodging or taking proper cover. This gets you killed.

By the way you should put a kinamp on your shield to shieldbash things.

Abigail did not think about that becuase quite frankly she barely knew what was going on and was most likely knocked out when asking for help installing the amp and the medbay doctor has had a lot of people being immediately knocked out when asking for assistance  in the in character thread it's very likely she was knocked immediately upon asking for help

The Doctor with a capital D is the one with the trademark "syringe to the neck" maneuver. The rest of the infirmary guys are OK guys and girls that are just trying to do their job.

Hell, worst that can happen is mycroft tries to interfere, pushes your arm, you whack her in the skull instead of the neck, the xenospit does wacky things to her damaged brain, and an epic overload happens. Her waking up with a sore neck is probably one of the best-case outcomes.

But if PW has to roll for things, he's more likely to roll for "how much of an idiot am I for missing the M24 shuttle"
