Sneaking
« on: January 28, 2014, 04:57:59 pm »

I've been playing LCS for about two or three years now and one thing I've never really figured out is this:

What is the point of the "sneak" command? No matter how high my stealth rating, I have never been able to actually stealth past anyone once the alarm has been raised. There are other methods of avoiding enemies once the alarm goes off, it's just a bit frustrating to lose a ninja-in-training to a lucky "important conservative" who nails the spot check.

I have successfully and consistently snuck past conservatives after the alarm has gone off. My stealth scores were >15 and I was wearing SEAL Stealth Armor. I used to rob the entire vault then just sneak past the responding SWAT team all the time =P

I like to train stealth by standing in the entrance way of the apartment closest to the exit. You can train it multiple times against the same conservative by just standing there. The check gets harder and harder though so switch for a new one after a while. Keep in mind how dangerous they are.

So it needs to be really, really high, with the additional costume multiplier? I guess that makes sense. Thanks for the heads up.

i found that bluffing is pretty good too. But you end up using your leader so its less than optimal unless you save scum.

Helps to have a small squad or single Liberal, too.  Ninja's power is inversely proportional to the amount of friendly ninja nearby, as someone here put it once.  ;-)

Trust me, like others have said you can get stealth up to absurdly high levels you will be a shanking Liberal Hero of the night. As in complete solo raids on the nuclear power plant, vault, intelligence base etc. For an example here are the stats of my leader.

Stealth: 28 (Main factor in sneaking, although I recommend security, disguise and other stats to help in missions)
Dodge: 20
Security: 8 (Low but you can grind more, really doesn't matter once you can sneak past everything)
Knife: 17
Seal Stealth Armor (Best stealth clothing in the game)
Agility: 28

These are the stats of said Liberal Hero. These are fairly high considering he is an Elite Liberal, and certainly not the best Liberal ever created, by far. I am sure others have created demigods,  but this is just a baseline of when you can start to rely on them to solo. Dodge is for bullets, since you can fail stealth checks at times.

If you go for agility when creating your founder then they will have more agility when they rank up. Agility hard caps Dodge and other skills, it also improves Dodge.

ah I see. The thing about using founders is that Im afraid of getting my elite persuation master dead. I think ill try it out and see if I can use him with a couple of hippie redshirts to mess with nuke reactors and kill the president.

I wouldn't recommend that. I believe having unskilled members with a skilled one lowers effectiveness. They can handle themselves solo, trust me.

Puff. Once you got disguise 25 you don't need to hide like a coward.

Eh you, what are you doing in the vault with a dollar-filled bag.

-Nothing-

-Ok, you can go-

I tried it out. Sneaking around 6 alarmed guards in a gentlemans club is fun. I Also put alot of time into training martial arts, If I recall that gives you up to 3 attacks, not sure if on multiple enemies

I also don't use my founder for missions. For stealth missions I bring dogs. (Their int/security is pretty low but that agility man)
