You know, since we have both a Red Shirt and a Stormtrooper, I have to ask the question: if they were training against each other, what would happen?

Stormtrooper misses all of its shots, Redshirt dies anyways. Isn't it obvious?

I'm now thinking of as many names that begin with "C" as I can.

There seems to be some misconceptions. Redshirts are not deadmeats. A redshirt dies at the beginning of an encounter to make the physical nature of the encounter more significant. The deadmeat dies at the end of the encounter, to elevate the emotional significance of the encounter. The redshirt will be lucky if they get a name, the deadmeat will have a close family and be on the verge of fulfilling their life's ambition... It is really very difficult to reconcile the two, although I suppose that you could have a heavily detailed redshirt with emotional baggage in an effort to demonstrate that anyone can die...

All things given, how often does a Mar(t)y Sue/Stu end up living the fate of a redshirt?

(I suppose LP's like this is a good benchmark)

Preferences (weapons, stats, etc): Maximum possible explosions. Grenades, rockets, explosive ammo, anything that goes boom. Dayum, I'm original, no one else requested that.

Bio: As a kid, everyone told him he couldn't have a rifle, because "he'd shoot his eye out".  He eventually begged, pleaded, and whined until he got one...and promptly shot his glasses.  But, as he's quick to point out, he did not in fact shoot his eye out, and has taken this to mean he is bulletproof.  I'm sure he'll soon learn how wrong he is...

Well, it's not like he knew that he'd be fighting aliens with plasma-spitting weapons when he signed up, he he he.
He should still be played as a guy that is a little too in love with his gun.
Whether or not he thinks himself plasma-proof, eh whatever.

Good news! OpenXcom allows renaming of aircraft, so that will be easy.
