yes, which is why we shouldn't evolve them yet. they're situational. lets just keep the ability to grow them and save it for when we need it.
Agrweed. save the DNA. the flying wales can wait.

SAVE ALL THE EVOLUTIONS!!!

It would be disorienting to attack a creature and have it suddenly sprout wings or creepy eyes.

Eat everything in an instant, before the human can actually do a thing. then look at him with a face covered in blood, and say: "I was hurwy mistah, is there moar food?"

You choose the bird, and begin digging in. In mere seconds, the entire thing is eaten, ridiculously sized beak and bones included. The human looks disturbed as he begins to cook his terror-monkey. Soon, the meals have been consumed, and he begins to work on some rudimentary lean-tos. After some time, what looks to be a shooting star appears in the sky. It comes ever closer, and in a few minutes, it collides with the planet, creating a small earthquake.

Grow leaf camoflauge! It would help hunt, also gain immunity to those poison plants, in case we eat any more.

upgrade the plant-bulb overnight to release various chemical spores as needed.

It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

I would like to expand on my idea of the hallucinogen-based defense.
We could gain the power of shooting clouds of hallucinogen, or the ability to implant hallucinogen time-release spores on creatures, or combine the bird's talons, hollow bones, and hallucinogen to create hollow claws and teeth like hypodermic needles.

The feathers would be nice, but we do have those flowers to grow petals in accordance to the jungle. We should probably save the bird for later.

I still think the ability to produce nectar could be incredibly useful.

Being able to hide as a plant would be very good for sneaking and that bird plant combo seems awesome as well, I think being able to preform photosynthesis would be nice as well.

The clouds of hallucinogen suggestion seems to be the best to me - it could aid us in escaping in a pinch, unlike the hollow claws thing.

I want to disagree with you all and tell you we should really be saving the DNA points, but, you all seem dead set on spending it, so instead,
Rush into the forest, towards the sound, fake happy for mommy being back.
if we manage to lose him, hide in the underbrush, and wait for him to pass us, and trail him, if he spots us, say we heard something, got scared, and went hiding.

Out of curiosity, would we be eating him soon? :D

I still don't see what eating him will do for us. The willful enslavement of lesser creatures leads to using them to provide us with a steady stream of corpses of more useful lesser creatures.

We can only use his DNA point towards some ability of his. Humans are not incredibly useful in the way of natural defenses.

We can get thumbs from less hardy prey. Prey we can use the human to catch for us, like he did the wicked-looking monkey-thing. Not to mention, we have a prehensile tail, as well.
