The ramifications of such mean they're tougher than we are right now, so it's best to approach cautiously and as gingerly as possible. Stay cute for now and earn their trust. You continue acting cute to the guards, but when you get close to the corpse, you begin giving it a wide berth, as though the scientist had the plague. You begin feeling slightly thirsty as the guards lead you down the twisting halls of the Xenolab. Soon, you arrive at the "Eastern Bay", and you see the escape pod.
"Okay, little guy, get in. We're gonna go try and find your mommy, and then we'll be right behind you."

Be scared of being left alone / bad guys showing up. Ask in that vein and either one of them will stay, or they will teach us how to use the capsule. Well, or so I would hope

Convince one of them to squeeze into the pod with you and when it launches eat him. (Depends on the size of the pods though, I guess, but if it is big enough to just fit one of them in you would probably have an advantage being the smaller one.)

The pod doesn't seem to have any controls. It just seems to be fired, either internally or externally, and then lands on whatever planet you might be orbiting.
"I'm scawed...Will one of you pwease come wif me?"

The two of them look at each other, and have a hushed conversation. After a bit of this, the first guard speaks up.
"I'll go down to the planet with you. My friend will go and try to find your mom, and then follow us."
He climbs into the pod along with you, and closes the doors. Soon, you can feel the pod move, and windows open up, revealing a view of a planet below.
"The pod will try to find land on that planet. It's called Okillion. Well, it's actually called S9-G2-Sys543-P4 but everyone calls it Okillion. Hopefully, we'll land near one of the civilizations. If we land in one of the deserts, though...I probably won't make it. I don't know about you, but I could end up dieing from the heat.
