I just embarked on an average embark. After unpausing, the game froze for 2 minutes, said "A section of the cavern has collapsed" or sth, then froze for another 10 minutes, most of the map disappeared, froze again for a couple of seconds then crashed.

I had something like that happen once but didn't kill anyone.

Decided to embark on the hottest possible area. My dwarves skin melted off too quickly to find proper shelter. Even then, some wild creature ended up killing me off within a month.

I was thinking more along the lines of this legendary champion, all clad in dented and dinged up steel plate, his blood-drenched axe slung over his back, a notch in the handle for every enemy that saw the swing of that blade as the last sight they ever saw, a battered shield strapped over his arm... and a fluffy, pink stuffed hippo hidden discretely in his breastplate.

I embarked on magma, I think I win.

I don't understand why you need magma.

Well done OP, you've inadvertently weaponized ghosts.

Yep, areas with fatmelting heat are great. Inviders and animals leave a nice bloody trail of blood and molten fat and quickly die. Almost as good as syndrome clouds. Fun ensured if it is a resurrecting biome.

Not my own, but a famous example.
Oh, that thing. Luckily it is really rare. Heard about it happening only twice I think.

The weredwarf Urist McUrist has come! A bearded drunkard twisted into minute form. It is crazed for booze and socks. Its unwashed beard is tangled. It needs alcohol to get through the working day and has gone without a drink for far too long. Now you will know why you fear the mines.

Et tu, Urist

Was under the impression it's a fixed bug.

My world failed to gen.
My fortress crumbled before the dwarves existed.

I don't have dwarf fortress on this computer. My fortress crumbled before the world could even start to be generated.

In my latest fort, everyone refused to wear pants.

Didn't last until autumn.

Start next to a river with alligators in it. Everyone dies, game over.

ALWAYS ROBES NEVER PANTS

On that note, I forgot I had the embark anywhere plugin on, and didn't notice that I embarked on a necromancer tower. And my wagon ended up spawning right next to it. So I was instantly eaten by zombies.
Although to be honest if I'd remembered to just forbid the doors to the necro tower that wouldn't have happened.
