Yeah, GOG is a great service. I had already gotten Fallout 1 for free as a promo, and now this? Its awesome. Plus, they have roller coaster tycoon for sale, cheap. Can't beat that.

huh.  never finished tactics.  loaned my CD's to someone, got them back, then lost them in a move.  Will have to take advantage of this.

have been avoiding joining GOG as I didnt want to be on another steam-like service.  But marketing like this will pull me in i guess, and soon I'll probably be wasting money on games I've already bought physical copies of but want to have in an online form (like I do with steam).

Thanks for the report, while i have already Fallout 1&2 since a decade (both were and still are very excellent games) i never got to try Tactics.

Never did FIXIT, but the restoration stuff for fallout 2 is fantastic. A lot of plot lines and locations were not finished in time for release and cut from the final project.

Heck. I think most fallout 2 players have spent time trying to do one thing in fallout 2 that you just could not do...
Never found Sulik's Sister? She was cut!

Her questline and numerous others quests and locations were added back in on the restoration mod. Adds a ton of additional hours to the game.

GOG isn't like Steam. The site allows download of games you buy through GOG, but those downloaded games are DRM-free and not connected to GOG anymore.

Second this. The games are available to download whereever you log in, and are quite often prepatched or presetup to let them run on newer machines, which can be an issue, especially with games like Dungeon Keeper.

I thought the full 'add everything taken out' patch for FO2 was absolutely terrible due to the rival bullshit which they wisely removed from the final game, so I personally recommend being sure to just get the one that patches stuff, not adds stuff back in.

Start with 1, because 2 is a sequel and tactics really isn't in the same universe, per se.
