((Sorry, going to do some backfilling, otherwise my character is going to stand there ignoring people for a while.))
The knight straightens from his lean against the wall as two different strangers approach him at the same time. Although the man from the roof saw him first, the robed man coming from the tavern reaches him first, bumping into him. The knight's hand reaches instinctively for his belt pouch, but diverts instead to touch something behind the pouch, hidden in the folds of his cloak. Satisfied that it is still there, he matches gazes with the robed man.
"Ooops, excuse me. I've not had a wink this night. I can't think or walk straight. I hope you accept my apologies."
"Your apologies are accepted. A late night and, perhaps, a few drinks will make anyone unsteady. His voice is rough but cultured. The armored man nods in greetings as the man from the rooftop comes closer.
"Good day, gentlemen i do not suppose you are here to admire the.....panorama ?"
The knight and the robed man keep their eyes locked for a moment longer before the robed man smiles slightly and turns away. The knight narrows his eyes slightly, but then gives his head a small shake. "No, not I." he hesitates for a moment, and then shrugs. "Truth be told, I'm waiting for a meeting that should occur near here. Sometime today, supposedly." He says the last with a hint of annoyance.
As the two converse over generalities, the armored man watches a human in simple clothing come running their way. He automatically scans the streets behind the running man for pursuit, his fingers touching the hilt of his sword before he relaxes, seeing nothing of concern behind the running man.
The man slows to a stop near the trio and addresses them. "Hello! You haven't seen a man named Olon Rotlaw, have you? He's wearing a black robe and I'm supposed to meet him here today."
As the conversation continues, the knight takes note of the dragonborn who joins the increasingly unlikely group that's been assembled.
I am Karl, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintances." He says. "I have to agree, we're becoming an odd band to all meet together. Were any of you offered details beyond a potential job?
