"Erm... you've got red on you.  On your face.  About *I gesture at a point on my left cheek* here.  But yeah, the help's appreciated-  I think the end's in sight, now..."

((We have what, 5 people working on the butcher's shop?  We only had 2 hours left to go anyway.  With the added workforce, it should be done even quicker.  I vote that we incorporate processing the boar and a bear into the next timeskip, so we don't waste hours where we could be doing something else.  Who's with me?))

"Thanks but I think that I'll wash my face after we make sure that the boar meat doesn't rot."

((I also agree with incorporating the boar and bear processing into the timeskip, unless they are finished before the timeskip happens))

((We can only process once the Butchery is done, we need a timeskip for that to happen.  Time on constructions like that doesn't pass until a timeskip happens.))

((I remembered what the thing i was talking about earlier was: a Dynamo. We could try and build dynamos to provide at least some energy....))

((We discussed dynamos?  Really?

Well, from the little I know, we'd need a ring of coiled magnetic wire and a smaller ring inside.  Turning the inside one makes the electromagnetic field that exists between the two structures go into flux, which generates voltage.  A waterwheel is our best bet.
As to where we'd get magnetic metals from...

Besides, what would we do with the power?  Does anyone even know how to make a lightbulb?  A heater?  Can we be sure we could get the metal in the first place, or even make the dynamo?

We should talk about this IC, eventually.  It'd be cool.))

((It is possible to make homemade dynamos, and the materials should exist already in the DF world.

I was thinking of having one waterwheel power a half dozen large (and i mean large) dynamos, which would be great once/if we build a proper underground fortress as we'd be able to get electric lighting (not too hard to make, really. We could make a simple light bulb) and use the electricity to pump water (sanitation, showers and flushing toilets?), among other things.

Where this idea really comes into its own is if we find an underground river. Totally self sifficient in power.))

((That would work, provided we can get the materials and expertise.  I assume we won't just make dynamos perfectly on our first tries, we'll have to do a whole load of experimentation and !!SCIENCE!!.

First up is seeing what happens if we try and make a Dwarven Water Reactor.  Maybe a version of the BATTEREY.))

(I wonder what would happen if we met non-PC dwarves and told them we have a dwarven water reactor)

Having seen the only the beginning of the events and the end of the events from his place by the pond as he worked upon the first of the two farms, Zanzetkuken thought to himself, 'I am never going to be using any equipment made of wood.'
