Oceans can't have plants in them,
That's silly. From algae to z...um, zargasso, oceans have more plants than land.

Thanks for the tidbit of scientific info. Might I remind you that might be a restriction that he has placed on the game, given the ambiguous nature of the post. Further that this is his game, not yours, and it does not require scientific accuracy. Thanks.

It's still fine to ask regarding science.

My main reason for not having plants in the open ocean is because the vast majority of it is algae, which is counted as part of the plankton background.

Okay, I'm making the update. Next time, though, I'd prefer it if you guys created the species sheets so that I could just copy/paste them in (and, in Mantle Guy's case, have it so that the description is how the creator wants it).

Anyway, REJOICE IN WHAT SHALL ARRIVE.

I bet they'll make something extra-adorable now that you've said that.

No new species sadly, we're just bum-rushing the available stuff.

How did green manage to invest 5 EP last turn.

They evolved one species, upgraded the biodiversity of another and migrated.

Because of their intrinsic adaptation. They have 1 EP off of every adaptation, so the size increase only cost 1 EP, bringing the total to 4.

I'm seeing things. I really thought they'd upgraded one of their biodiversities too.

On a side note, why does everyone want to migrate to the Polar areas, where all of you're in a disadvantage (cold) and have to fight against a cold resistant, biodiversity benefitting species.

Because even if it is temporary, it's still more EP. And anyway you're on the other side of the world so I'm going to enjoy my 3EP a few more turns.
I'll remind you that it'll cost you 18-20EP (depending on rounding) to fully adapt to polar temperatures (8-9 then 10-11), at the rate we're going it's not going to be available until a couple more turns.

Hey, I started this bandwagon, thank you.  Also because serious limitations in my capacity to expand anywhere else.

Also quick check: Mantle EP bonus does not apply to increasing biodiversity, correct?

Pretty sure it doesn't.

I'll remind you that there are no polar temperatures. It's just cold, which I'm perfectly adapted too.
