Ebbor's update is fine, since BD doesn't require creation of a new species and there's only one place to put the new BD in.

Froggy, evolving speed and a toxin would both require a form for the evolved species and 94 EP. For all the stuff you can do right now, there's adding BD, migrating, and anything you see on the list. I'll make a list of stuff that can be done right now, so go post.

Team I have initiated action to increase survivability of our species, do you approve?
No, we need to improve biodiversity. We do not have enough EP for anything else, really.

How much does speed increase cost though? I don't see it listed.

It says, a bit before the end, '(current level plus income) squared', so it'd be 4.

STUFF THAT CAN BE DONE WITH 2 EP:

Add a Biodiversity (1 EP)
Migrate to a new biome (1 EP)

This lot requires a new species (if anyone doesn't know how to fill a species form, I can do an example):
Increase size (2 EP)
Increase diet specialisation (2 EP)
Increase intelligence (1 EP)
Immobility (would require a size increase, 0 EP, would increase the original Swimmer's income by 1)

If the last team is still open I'm going to split my team and take it, then reroll the creatures. I'd like to get something which can symbiotize everything.

I'd like to take WC2 and name it Beach of Urist. My team, I would like named to Urist.

There's only notochord and black plant, so remind me to give that to you later.

Arrrgh, too late to join in?  Shall lurk from the sidelines instead, then.  :D

(Alternately, would love to join the black team, but not quite sure how... if they will take me...)

Icefire, may I join your team?

The EP income is calculated per biome, right?

No it's per creature.

It's "per population", and the definition of population I've been taught (university, and the cursus is literally "biology of the populations") is "all specimens of a singular species in a specific area", so species*biome. Same species, different biome = different population.
EDIT: apparently, if the definition of BD in the first post is anything to go by, it is species*biome.

And question: as it is impossible to migrate and evolve temperature adaptation in the same turn, how do species having a different temperature stat than their biome react? Is there only an idle mali?

@Ituem: You can either join another team or negotiate for a creature when we've evolved some more of the things.

@Kaian: Yeah, that's right.
After thinking about it, I've decided that 'no migrate+evolve' is a silly rule and must be amended.

And how do creatures with, say, a temperature rating of 3 fare in a temp 1 or 2 biome? As in, can they even get there? Obviously more adapted competitors would wipe them out instantly, but in the absence of competition?

Good point. Adding a rule for where they can live. I've decided that if they live in a biome and have 4 too few/many temperature, then they can't survive and slowly lose BD until they go extinct.

you can join. I mainly switched teams because I liked the other kind of creature better. just remember this is a dictatorship and my word is law I've already voted this time, next time we'll begin considering other options.
