Anyway, complaints.

Quote
Magnetic Reversal
The Magnetic Reversal will switch the magnetic poles. This has a huge impact on the ocean currents and disturbs the plankton growth, which in turn kills off many filterfeeding species. Also many species rely on the magnetic poles for navigation, especially flying ones.
All populations will lose BD equal to the connected biomes for that species. So if a species has three populations on continent A and three on continent B and both continents don't touch, all populations of that species will lose 3 BD.
Flying species will be hit twice as hard.
Filter feeders will be hit thrice as hard.
Magnetic reversals have no effect on ocean currents, nor plankton growth. Only thing they can reliably effect is surface beings, as radiation is temporally increased during the shift.

That's about it.

To be honest, some bits of this (including that bit) are lovingly ripped from another game. It's more just a mechanic than an accurate representation of a magnetic reversal.

I'm okay with The Overthinkers with GWG.

Complaint though:

Okay, I'll give you that one. Editing it to being no larger than twice the size.

Also, someone post so I announce new teams to people.

There is ONE SPACE REMAINING FOR A TEAM. Either wait a few turns or join another, if you don't get there first.

Team Overthinkers has been formed!

The starting kingdoms are:
Hydraulic! A red flatworm-like organism that uses its hydraulic muscles to propel itself.

Red! A bunch of red spheres that stick to the seafloor.

Team Independent has been formed!

The starting kingdoms are:
Radial! A blue jellyfish-like creature that bobs along in the current.

Blue! A group of blue fronds that stretch out from the seafloor.

Still not great. Blue whales, whale sharks, and the like are...let's see, krill are what, a few grams, to the 100 tons of a blue whale? That's tens of millions of difference in size. Cats are dozens of times the size of mice. Lions tend to hunt little gazelles, not huge elephants. Dolphins and (some) sharks eat fish small enough to fit in their mouths. Predators that eat smaller prey are actually the minority.

Blue whales, whale sharks and the like would be classified as filter feeder more than carnivores, really. Interestingly the rules don't detail filter feeders rules.
According to the IRL size equivalent, mice are size 2 or 3, and cat size 4. Lions size 6, gazelle size 5. Dolphins size 5-6, and hunt fishes of size 3. So it fits with "no larger than twice the size".

...
We're earning that team name, aren't we?

Does the game begin once all 5 teams are established or once each team has a certain number of people, etc?

Oh, the size is sort of logarithmic? I should have read more carefully.

I'm so freaking IN

I'll probably team up with GWG since we're similarly minded.
The Overthinkers, then? Or shall we be amphibians?
Your choice but I need teammates.

Actually, can I dissolve my team and join another as mine currently has no other members? If so can I join The Overthinkers?
