So what did everyone think of playing that, anyway? Would it be the sort of thing to be worth trying to go all out on in an actual game, with multiple missions, customized characters with promotions, perks, and all that stuff (since I have Enemy Within, now, we could actually use genetics and robotics modifications.) or was this best as just a test, and go make an actual forum game?

I actually had a lot of fun doing this, and it's pretty much nowhere near as much work as a forum game to run.

I'd prefer an actual forum game, but do whichever you prefer.

Just finished reading through the Crew manual, going to save the ship manual for tomorrow.

You can die in some pretty freaking horrible ways in this game. And it has some sweet rules for it, too.

Ok, in-between being active on the forum and playing Knights and Merchants, I've been perusing my way through piecewise's Mainspring rules, and I think I've finally finished all of it.

That's some crazy stuff in there, and a fair bit of it is incomplete, but the main questions I had were answered through a PM to piecewise himself, so I think I'm going to launch a game of it, particularly seeing as how the poll says there are more people who are tired of my s#!% than there are people who don't want a game.

I'll be making a thread for it shortly.

A question for you mastahcheese: do you think focusing on one project at a time would allow you to make that game more creative, long-lasting, and fun, or do you consider yourself a Piecewise type, able to shift gears between multiple games without losing much?

I really like your stuff, but you're constantly dropping and starting, so that seems like either an attention span thing OR a strong fear of failure.
