Wanting things: Hell on a fortress!

Okay, there is few things I want to have for a mega project in my mind. Yes, creatures and syndromes for Hell Fortress! Let's do listing. Anything goes as long it is.. vile, nasty, unruly, etc, etc...

1) Creatures from various mythos of hell and similars. Accepting also those from movies and such just for favour. Oh, and I like to have something akin to those tikimen. Them and other kind of with freaky tissue layers, like metal skins and such. For easy of placing being (evil) domestic is bonus.

2) Poisonous and nasty flora, as well ale and dye make from them. And cloth. All poisonous, probably bleeding blood too. Hehehe. Should be underground variants. Want replace those ordinary stuff with them.

3) Syndromes, nasty ones. Some just kills or transforms, some revives and other just resurrect. Stardard aren't enough and too hard to control in these projects. Also how many syndromes actually resurrects targets back to full creature just to be dismembered and killed again?

4) Alchemical laboratory with everything you will need for creating perfect Hell. Everything from strange things to toxic grime ready be floored all over layer.

5) Interesting things within ore veils...

And, yes, I want concentrate into building. Just not like do it with stardard things and mods are out of questions. Wrong stuff, too much wrong stuff...

Well, I'm useless at coding, but I'm good with ideas for monsters, syndromes and stuff like that.

For example, take your common DF vampire. Plague of legendary dwarves, is he not? But don't you think he feels a bit lonely? No other types of monsters to socialize with, or to fight over victims - I mean, you'd get bored fighting your brothers and sisters all the time,wouldn't you? You'd like some variety. So, why not add more sneaky night creatures? Take, for example, the Malaysian "vampire" (the name's a placeholder while I try to remember what they're called). These monsters take the appearance of a woman with long black hair. But the hair hides something. You see, on the back of their neck, they have a long, flexible proboscis - think like an elephant's trunk with a plunger shape instead of nostrils. The come for babies and small children in the night, and use that proboscis to drain all the blood out of the child, leaving a sucker mark. Such a creature could come into your fort and fight with regular vampires over territory or people - say, a boy on the edge of manhood. The vampire has claimed him for the future, when he's old enough, but the "vampire" wants him now.

If you take the concept of torturing/brainwashing your opponents until they join you, a la Dungeon Keeper, you have the potential to create a menagerie of madness to unleash upon any who dare come to your fortress! Say you capture a will-o-the-wisp, and eventually it agrees to do something for you, anything - if only you let it go. Now, I know what you're thinking - it's pretty weak sounding, right? Not when a sieging force follows it off the beaten track, only to be confronted with a dozen armoured griffins, who proceed to tear them to shreds and devour their entrails.

What about a syndrome that merely appears to cause horrible boils and blisters all over a dwarf, but is actually on a time delay before the real syndrome comes to a head - the infected dwarf's blood will become acidic, their  boils and blisters will bleed profusely, and they'll gain a strength boost. Said "dwarf" will rampage, having become undead, unfeeling, and opposed to life. They'll also be infectious.

So, am I hired?

The first won't be different from common vampire in game mechanics.

The third is perfectly doable!

The third is perfectly doable!

I just thought of something similar to a regular DF vampire, but wanted it to be different enough to make my point.

But that'll take a thousand years to grow to full size! Some people don't gen their worlds that long...
Aside from that, though, I like it. I wonder if you could adapt the digging invaders plugin to allow it to move through z-layers. Imagine how frightening it would be to find out you had a few of those living next to you, just after you burnt one of the babies...

I think I am dig my memory stick somewhere. No way going write all that! I assume however you don't mind if I add little skin necrosis into what poison? Hehehe.. and make them war-trainable! How it was, adding poisonous blood again... hm...

Actually, I had an idea a little while ago to make an extremely combat-oriented mod, to the extent that it wouldn't even feel like DF anymore, but an entirely different game running from the same engine.  Overpowered and insanely aggressive animals, creatures that could attack you through walls if you tried to escape by turtling, equally overpowered spells to fight them, stuff like that.  Like Fortress Defense turned up to eleven.  What if the plotline was that you were actually in hell?  As if DF isn't already hell enough.

I cant really see that, with the user interface, the problems of the AI, how they target with interactions, and equip their gear... that sounds like total chaos. (Which might be just what you intended ;) )

Can't say that this is mod, only modding raws to suit this project. Stardard aren't enough, must harsher and... more hellish like. Also pretty varying. Some layers are calm and horrible, some are chaotic and horrible. Either way enough material is required before I think it is good time to begin anything...

And also, if everything goes fine (or in this case horrible right), I may set this as, hm, suggestion game...

I actually tried something like this at one point. I was drawing my inspiration from Tuf Voyaging, which actually does come with some fairly nasty ideas. I also included things to make the game easier, though. Like meatbeasts, which are carnivores (so they don't need to eat in DF), and grow really fast, and are quite large.

Hellkittens. Look like normal cats (give them the same name just to confuse people), but they spit powerful acid.

Manna. A great crop - quick to grow, very valuable, etc. Only eaten raw. And with a syndrome that makes dwarves infertile (I did this by turning them into a genderless dwarven caste).

I can remember a few more I don't have names for. A water creature which is fairly harmless, but constantly releases clouds of "blood", to mess up your rivers etc. A flyer I never actually tested which basically acted like a bomber, creating stuff in midair.
