<Svajoklis, Maximus>

Provide fire support to Kosak.

"Brian, if I die because you exploded our one way away from the griblies, I swear I will haunt you."

The point of keeping the golems on fire isn't for the value of fire as a weapon. It's more to keep the golems functioning at a reasonable speed.
It was never a promise. It was a dirty lie, and you all knew that. You should all know by now that you can't trust a word I say.

Theri flinched as she saw the soldier land (somewhat safely) nearby, as her mind was more oriented to the situation inside and if River was ever found out. Assessing the situation, she could climb up there herself if River could, and...she thought, announce a surprise inspection?

No, that would be horrible timing.

Instead, perhaps, it seemed better to take on these foes using her own niche--where Irine would burn literally everything down to the dot, with skill in accuracy, she believed she could take a few unaware soldiers using speed and skill. Besides that, there was also morale on her side, and that she could use their momentum against them; it would be hard using a weapon at such close quarters anyway.

Clamber up there and aid River, let's get to unarmed fighting! (And perhaps some diplomacy in which I would order them to disarm as there are no reinforcements arriving, because we have the place surrounded.

"If you wanted a knight you should have looked for someone else, there's this guy I know that can slice through space and time with his sword, why don't you send me back and get him instead?" He said
"Nonsense! Thou arst a fine warrior. Thou merely needeth an opportunity to prove thyself."
"Also, he's kinda poor and you're the best he can afford. Summoning heroes is expensive, you know."

"Also, I don't know what a cat boy is but I'm getting the urge to call you names" He said to the crazy weeaboo lady.
"Nyaaaa, you're so meean!" Roger complains and jumps on the counter, transforming into a hairless creature that looks somewhat like a cat but still has the same human face.
"Aren't I cute enough for you, nyan?" she asks as she rubs against your hand and purrs.
"Ahem. Aanyway, a challenge awaits thou, great warrior. Are you ready to fight?"

(("you haven't even taken the safety off, rookie."))

"Pointing it at you. Consider dropping that pistol?"

Finger on the trigger. Keep track of his intent.
For a moment he just looks at you. You don't see any change with your eyes but your ability shows you what he's planning. Going to move sightly to the right and then quickly- No, wait, he's going to pretend he's going to crouch down but then dive- No, he's changed his plan again, now he's going to... just leave the gun on the floor. Looks like he decided to follow your 'suggestion' after all.
"Heh." he exclaims in amusement.
"How can I refuse if you're being so polite?" he adds as he slowly crouches and deposits the pistol on the floor.
"Who sent you here?"
His smile fades somewhat.
"You know whoever did so probably expected you to die, right?" he asks as he gently lets go of the pistol, still not taking his eyes off you.

((Yeah, you can make new characters whenever you stop using an old one.

The mission has the crew investigating a huge city-sized spaceship. They must gatherer info. They must reactivate the ship and bring it to Entity-friendly space if they can. For that reason they've been given a Seed that can reactivate the ship's main reactor. If they can't reactivate the ship then they should escape with as much info as they can gather about what happened there. If one of them dies, they need to bring back their Interface so they can be revived.

The spaceship called Maximus was in a pocket universe which is part of a larger network of pocket universes that are interconnected by stream Gates. Stream Gates can be opened by devices called stream Breakers. The entities believe there might be an Outsider ruling over that network, essentially a god-like being that is not part of the entities. However that network is also being colonized by the Light and the Dark, two groups of Entities. The spaceship was jointly built by the Light and Dark and was investigating a high energy anomaly when it disappeared. At first the entities thought it was destroyed when the high energy anomaly exploded. However they later got an automated distress signal from it, which originated from an unexplored pocket universe that was part of that same network.

The team arrived there in a ship called Phoenix accompanied by the Avatar of an entity called Icarus, to find the pocket universe full of a water-like liquid that messes with their abilities when they are in contact with it (some more than others). Their ship was attacked by an automated turret but they managed to disable it, though it was booby trapped by an unknown agent. They managed to enter the ship but they got attacked by an unknown person using jury rigged weapons and an exoskeleton. They managed to drive them away and made their way to the medical section to heal themselves. They saw signs of battle with unknown alien beings on their way there. They got there and healed themselves by then got attacked by the same creatures, which are apparently controlled by a crazy old man. They decided to make their way deeper into the medical section and take care of him.))

You roll well on initiative and manage to summon a doll to block the doorway. You then close the door and continue rising up. The beast throws your doll down and Jack opens the door again. However it looks like your platform has gone past a point of no return (or maybe the Queen has seen enough of your performance) so it keeps going. Jack fights but he quickly ends up dying a very gruesome death, having no hope of winning against the endless onslaught of monsters with his limited supply of cards.

Your platform keeps rising, going through the floor, through the casino floor that is now full of cheering guests, through the roof and higher still. Finally, after spending some time in the darkness, you reach another door. This one has no carvings on it. You open it to find yourself in a giant throne room. It feels cold, full of black and white marble. There are various decorative suits of armor around the room, some medieval, some more modern, some futuristic. The queen is lounging in her throne. A fair young girl with straight dark hair and green eyes. Her dress reminds you of the one the mannequin you stole the sword from was wearing. You can't read her expression, though you can tell she is watching you calmly.

♚The Doll Prince: A Meeting of Royals♚

Though Jack had just died a well deserved death for his betrayal and Napoleon escaped a similar fate, both paled in comparison to who he was seeing before his barely blinking eyes. Here sat the very person he'd been searching for. Here is the very person he'd endured so much for just so she can test his mettle... and no doubt be entertained by someone she'd simply plucked from Earth to... wherever this place is. This same person, who'd thought of herself as the puppeteer if whatever Lady Amarante said is anything to go by, sat before him, is no doubt pondering the nature of this dollish Frenchman and what use he is to her.

In addition, the Queen is not how he'd imagined her to be. To be truthful, Napoleon expected her to be a bit older, like in her thirties or forties for example. The Queen looked younger than him, barring the possibility that she could be a lot older than she looked. However, as prideful as he can be, even Napoleon knew that anyone who can command the obedience of the likes of Amarante must not be a slouch themselves in matters of power, grandeur, and influence. To lose control of oneself and give into too much disrespect or even violence will be suicidal.

The hard leather soles of his dress shoes resounding as they tapped on the marble floor, Napoleon slowly approached the Queen, his own green eyes locked with hers. Once he was about six meters away from her, Napoleon kneeled and lowered his head. Though he in reality owned no official titles from Earth, with 'The Doll Prince' being just a self-proclaimed one, Napoleon felt as if he was merely a royal speaking to another, albeit one who he grudgingly admitted to be higher ranked and not just some well-dressed noble or, God forbid, a peasant pretending to be someone above his station.

After all, when one possesses such an expectation, it might as well be already true. It only requires some work to be done to make it a reality.

"Bonjour, ma Reine," Napoleon greeted as he maintained his posture. "It was quite some challenges you sent me through, I must say. First the fiasco at the mansion involving your servant Lady Amarante and then the test at your casino involving the treachery of Jack, who is now... out of commission as we speak. I'm quite sure that I'm wasting your time by repeating what you already know though, so allow me to skip to the questions: why do you seek to test me in such a way and what do you have in store for me?"
"Straight to the point, I see. But also attempting to be polite." she says to herself as she gets up and starts walking towards you, descending the few steps from her throne.
"Didn't introduce yourself. That could be considered a faux pas."
She pauses to stare at you, frowning for a second.
"But, like you said, we're both intelligent enough to know we need no introductions."
She turns to address one of the suits of armour standing next to her throne.
"I liked Jack, the so-called King of Card Games. He was determined. Calculating. Ruthless. He could lie without the slightest tell. But the number of situations he can be useful in is limited and his evolution does not offer many pathways. One of my Knights will have better use for him."
He then turns to address the suit of armour standing on the other side of her throne.
"I still haven't thoroughly tested the one you call Princess Maxine Powers, but I'm not impressed by what I see so far. She has potential for growth but I'm not sure she will survive long enough to achieve it."
She starts walking back towards the throne, turning her back to you. You notice the knife resting in a silver sheath on her belt, hidden behind her back.
"Unfortunately, a job has come up. As the most promising so far, I'll use this Doll Prince for it. It will make for a good final test."
Though she does not speak directly to you (or at least pretends not to), she has answered your questions in an indirect manner.

Campaign: Rebel Assault

<"Giant shadow monsters at top of tower! Airship damaged but still in air. Get those civs out as soon as possible!"> Nikolai yells and comms at the same time.

Untsar the crossbow.
"Get ready, we have a shadow monster coming this way! Fire weapons are good idea. Keep watch, it's a sneaky bastard." Order.
"Bring the lightning cannon forward!" Order.
"Reload the crossbow. Another ice bolt. Adjust aim slightly [direction]." Order.
"Adjust trebuchet aim, slightly [direction]." Order.
"And someone check on Irene!" Order.

Get behind that lightning cannon and prepare to tsar it.
Activate my water armour just in case.

You yell orders as you run towards the lightning cannon and the Artillery operators scramble to follow them. When you reach the cannon you help its operators push it the last few steps and then aim down its sights while preparing to tsar it and fire.

You can't see the shadow creature yet, it will probably take a while to reach you depending on its speed. At least a couple of minutes, you'd guess. Unless it's using some sort of illusion.

Despite its slack sails and the no-doubt still reeling crew, whoever is piloting the airship manages to get it moving. It begins drifting away from the tower while turning to point its cannons towards your general direction. You activate your water armor. It's supposed to offer great protection against material Elements, which should include lightning and shrapnel. You also warn the recruits helping you aim to get ready to run when you tell them to.

((Please specify where you want the trebuchet aimed, just so there are no misunderstandings. You want to Target the airship or the tower or something else?))

Did I notice anything regarding what was just revealed by the breaking illusion?
clean myself up and start preparing to generate fire instead of just cleaning the surrounding area.
You saw the same thing Nikolai saw (assuming you'd walked up the slope to watch the crossbow bolt fly) and didn't feel anything different, if that's what you're asking. Breaking the illusion and having that creature leave the tower does not seem to have affected the Dark ritual in any way you can perceive.

You should be able to fight something in close range but it will be a bit more difficult than usual. Anything further than medium range (let's say around 30 metres) would be much harder however.

The problem is that even though you've cleared a good part of your surroundings of Dark magic, the flow of Fire has yet to return, since the area around the one you've cleared is still affected by the Dark ritual. You only have the Fire in your soul and the souls of the recruits around you to rely on. And the Sword, of course.

((Well, you see people get hurt all the time in videogames or comics and they say they're simply unconscious, so... maybe he's fine.

Also, I wish you the best with the weather situation.))
Quote from: Autoaction
Zechariah and the mages will aid Theri's attack.
Theri makes a running jump, grabs the window's ledge and starts pulling herself up.
"What's going on?" she hears one of the soldiers ask.
"What the- Where did he go?!" another exclaims.
She pulls hserself up and drags herself through the opening, landing on the wooden floor on the other side. The other two soldiers that were on the second floor have converged towards the spot their comrade was last seen.
"What do you mean 'where did he go'?" the first one asks.
"He was here a second- Unf!"
Before the soldier can finish answering, River jumps at him from behind, slamming the soldier's head against the wall with all his momentum.
"Oh shit! It's- Gah!" the other soldier shouts as he draws his bow to shoot at River but Theri strikes him on the head from behind before he can aim, throwing him to the floor and sending his arrow on a wall.
"Damn damn damn!" one of the soldier from the floor below swears, panic clear in his voice.
"Throwing boomer!" another shouts.
Theri hears a sound like glass breaking, followed by a section of the floor a few metres away from her exploding, sending wooden shrapnel everywhere. Theri only has a split second to consider how reckless throwing grenades in an enclosed space with hostages is, as she is forced to act.

The balcony she's on tilts, threatening to send her falling to the ground floor, but she manages to grab onto a wooden beam and hold on. Looking to her right, she sees River has also managed to grab something some wood with his mouth. A moment later, having calculated where he wants to go, he lets go and slides into the dust cloud below.
"You are surrounded! Surrender and you will be spared!" Theri shouts from where she's hiding, shouting as hard as she can to be heard over the ringing in her ears.
"Screw you! Throw another boomer!" one of the soldiers responds, unconvinced by her threat.
However, before he can make his own threat a reality, the door explodes open, battered by a wave of darkness. Through the wave come a few dozen Ice Spikes, hitting some of the soldiers and throwing them to the ground. The ice spikes start transforming into restraints, sticking onto the hands of the soldiers that try to remove them by transforming the moisture in them into more ice, thus holding them in place. It looks painful.

Campaign: Party Crasher

Alayne, Friendship Target Aquired

To the bridge! Be obsequious and easily ignored as I make my way up there - no one looks twice at random serving girls, after all.
You climb up from the heart of the ship, going nearer to its top, where the bridge resides (good thing this body of yours is much better at physical exercise). Nobody bothers you on your way there, but once you get to the Bridge you find the armoured door guarded by two soldiers, same as the one in the Power Core.

Maximus: Medical Section

Brian Hoss, Maximus

Carefully float my remaining eye over a burning shard. If that seems safe enough, try to cool a path through where the core was.
You float your eye through the remains of the molten core, cooling a path through the remains of the molten and exploded walls. You are aided by the cool air escaping from the holes in the door leading to the Hyperstasis Pods area.

You poke your eye through the door and look around. It's cold and there's enough moisture in there too form a thin fog. Through it you can see several cylindrical machines clinging to the walls as well as some mechanical arms, probably used to move them around. This area looks pristine, a jarring difference compared to everything you've seen so far. Observing the machines a bit more closely, you notice the pods have small windows, a layer of frost clinging on them. Through them you can see the inside of the pods. Most of them are empty but a few are occupied. Based on the green status lights flashing on the occupied pods, you'd say those inside are still alive.

You walk through the cleared path and poke your hand through the hole in the door. It's cold but not cold enough to kill you, not unless you decide to stay in there for too long.

<Svajoklis, Maximus>

Provide fire support to Kosak.

"Brian, if I die because you exploded our one way away from the griblies, I swear I will haunt you."
You kneel down next to the door, attaching your suit to it so that you won't float away. You take aim, trying to find a shot that doesn't involve shooting through Kosak.

You take careful aim and shoot two of the eye-things after Kosak explodes himself. Good thing you have him acting as a distraction.

Kosak Durar:

Well now, we can't have that. Attack them first! Prioritize dealing with the sphere creature, then deal with the rest.
Yakuza 0 - Crash Addiction
You rush towards the floater. It merges its trunks and shoots a spinning glob of hot... stuff at you. You easily jump out of the way, bounce off the celling and then float through the door. You grab the floater by its trunk before it can float away, reach the floor where you reattach your feet to the ground, spin the creature around using your momentum and then smash it against two of the creatures waiting by the door. The thing explodes from the force of the impact, splattering its internal fluids everywhere. A moment later the broken electronics inside it emit a few sparks, lighting the flammable liquid on fire and causing an explosion. You are thrown away by the force of the explosion and get smashed against a bed, uprooting from the floor and sending both of you floating away. Your suit beeps, complaining about some tear.

Whew. Fighting things in zero-g is quite fun once you get used to it. Normally your speed is somewhat restricted by your small size but now you can bounce around like a murderous pinball. You just have to be careful to aim properly or you'll end up bonking your head on something again.

There are still 3 of those things with the four arms jumping around, looking for an opening.

Take cover, and get clear of allies, I don't want to make them easy to spot when I start setting things on fire...
Then start setting things on fire. I need to begin the flame growth process immediately if I want to have enough to work with then the threats arrive, and having the physical flames in place should help reinforce me and make the cleansing process much easier when I get back to it.
Did I manage to performing the self-cleaning I needed last turn by the way? You'd mentioned that I was getting a bit contaminated...

Still outside the room. Waiting for the smoke to clear, probably.

"Ah. Should have known." he says to himself with a small frown.
"Well, you see, that's a problem. Because I can't let you have that equipment. It took me months to gather it all and prepare everything. I can't afford to lose it all. Like you, I'm not doing this for myself. If I don't finish this job, I won't be able to see my family again."
Despite the implications of what he is saying, he doesn't sound threatening.

♚The Doll Prince: One Sided Conversation♚

Napoleon arched an eyebrow as the Queen talked to the armor sets. Though one would expect this from someone who appeared to be prepubescent, Napoleon begin to wonder whether Her Majesty has last all her gemstones upstairs. Here's hoping that she's not psychotic or anything like that.

However, regardless of whether the armor sets are actually responding to the Queen or not, Napoleon begin to wonder whether there were even more people like himself. More annoyingly, it seems that Jack is still... an active factor. Sure he has obviously been devoured by those rat things but it seems that he would be brought back to serve one of the Queen's Knights, not that Napoleon was worried. After all, he can always rub it in his face whenever he want.

However, all paled in comparison when the Queen spoke of him being the most promising of her subjects. His ego stroked, Napoleon grinned fiercely for a few moments when the Queen turned her back to him. Such things are inevitable, given who exactly she was testing after all. Of course, once he passed the final test, he would be expected to serve her in whatever capability she chooses.

However, for the Doll Prince, that will only be the beginning of his destiny.

Wait patiently for the Queen to send him off to this mission, whatever it is.

"Screw you! Throw another boomer!" one of the soldiers responds, unconvinced by her threat.
Theri walked up to the soldier who spoke that and disarmed him (all the while getting the most utilitarian accessories available like MOAR GRENADES) and shoved it right in front of his face because I accidentally the Renegade reaction button while looking at them with the worst face of annoyance she had--this was moreso to the annoying ringing than anything else.

"'Screw you' and your face," she said in her best imitation of their-being-a-jerk. Then she mentioned the notion of surrender once again, all the while checking for magical blockers or pathways for alerting others.

And then Renegade points go up while I go down the Paragon path because hey bonus point with no consequence but intimidation

Secure the area and perimeter, disarm and ensure the soldiers are unable to attack back.

And then check on the captives while proceeding with the plan!
