So, I PM'd Harry Baldman a while ago and he recently replied and said he had quit not only the game but Bay12 forums entirely, so the campaign group will probably need Ike to be auto'd. he said he'd mention it to paris but  since I haven't seen anything I thought I'd just put it out here so we could continue.

Oh, and since it's been a bit since I posted the action, just reiterating that Irine is going to:

Parisbre isn't the type of GM to kill off PC's left and right. They would usually give you an out to escape relatively functional.

Shit, so I'm up against three people, in a hostile environment, and they'll all probably be better armored than me. And I don't even know what the thing is that I need to get, so I have to follow them there. And the thing apparently needs drilling to get to, so even if I KNEW what it is and where it is, I'd still need to find or steal drilling equipment, and gather a few friends of my own...
Fuck.

Argh. Maybe I can still deal with this somehow, just need to search the room, come up with a plan...
You carefully start opening the closet. You open it as slowly as possible, being wary for any sign of traps. However it appears that you didn't check carefully enough. There's a click followed by rapid angry beeping. Before you can realize what's going on a purple haze explodes out of the closet. You try not to breathe it and move away, accidentally bumping into one of the air tanks and sending it tumbling away, loudly clanging as it does so. The haze's acrid smell makes you gag and cough. Through the haze you can see that the closet holds a powerful-looking rifle, some bullets, a backpack, some food and water and some clothes.

♚The Doll Prince: Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures♚

With a loud grunt of pain and frustration, Napoleon glanced at the wound on his left arm. It was worst than it previously was and bled profusely. Summoning a doll to function as a tourniquet, Napoleon turned his attention back to Jack and noted how close he was to the door. Though he wasn't sure whether the door will immediately lock behind the first person to enter it or the second person can still easily use it, he did not want to stand around to find out. With a sneer, he turned his attention to the swarm harassing Jack. Perhaps now is the time to extend the perceived boundaries of his ability. Even he'd never thought that such a day would come in which he'd be forced to do so, considering that he'd more or less kept his dolls largely unchanged during the past two hundred years.

Mon Dieu, this has better work.

As the swarm continue to harass Jack, morph one of the winged dolls in something of a living grenade. Pull back the swarm long enough to detonate the doll. Send the swarm back in to finish Jack off if he survives.
((Hmmm... Grenade? That doesn't sound like something you would normally be able to do. Let me think about this... Aha! I got it. Now let's see if lady luck is with you. ))

You give up on micromanaging and give a simple, direct command, feeding it with all the power you can muster: Blow up!

The doll that receives the command immediately freezes as if it just had a heart attach. It falls to the ground, swelling dangerously. A few seconds later it reaches its breaking point, tearing itself apart and sending fragments flying everywhere. Unfortunately the explosion is not as powerful as you'd have liked, Jack survives with some minor scrapes. However it is enough to stagger him and give the waiting dolls the chance to easily pull him down.

Jack tries to throw a card but one of the dolls screws with his aim, The card flies high above him where it transforms into a cloud of wooden rods. The rods fall back down towards him, hitting both him and several of the dolls before disappearing. Jack appears to be disoriented, as one of the rods hit him straight to the head, however the remaining dolls are probably not enough to keep holding him down if he puts any serious effort into it.

You manage to catch up to Jack's position, a few steps away from the door. The monsters are a few seconds away from reaching the two of you.

You make your ribcage into a carapace so thick and rigid you can hardly move or even breathe. It envelops you fully. In fact, it envelops you so fully you lose your grip on the plane. Ooops.

A few seconds later, your shell impacts the ground. However, due to the law of conservation of momentum, the flesh inside it keeps moving and impacts the inside of your shell at high speed, which results in a quite gruesome death, the only consolation being how quick it was.

"Like they say, it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end."
"Doesn't bode well for the future, don't you think?"
"Bah, nonsense, that only happened because I listened to your suggestions and gave him such an unworthy challenge."
"Oh, yeah? And what happens if your player is in the same situation again?"
"Simple, he shall never be in that situation again."

A moment later, the darkness ceases. You respawn back in a tavern occupied by a sparse collection of people. Huh.


Campaign: Rebel Assault

You spend some time reassuring the civilians before taking position to guard the warehouse from any enemy forces. You  think you haven't been detected yet, but you can never be too careful.

After a few minutes of standing watch, Theri messages you:
<East gate is safe. The path to it is clear. Ahos is waiting to receive the civilians. He says he will send some men to escort them here.>

As you are about to respond, you suddenly hear a pop echoing through the silence of the night. You don't know what that was, but whatever it was it's not good. It's still too early. If Nikolai starts firing now, then you'd need to run like the wind to make it to the other warehouse in time.

"I don't like having to rely on something that can't guarantee the safety of these people, but it'll have to do. Wait - do we know if Ahos has secured the eastern gate yet? If he has, we could escort the refugees out that way and not have to worry about them. Otherwise, the barrier is our only option. We could send someone to check while we advance. What do you think?"

You and River make your way towards the easter gate. Along the way you encounter nobody, not even any enemy patrols, which you find a bit strange. As you arrive at the eastern gate however, you discover the reason for that. A patrol has recently been taken care of by Ahos' men. You see them dragging bodies with arrows sticking out of them, trying to hide them while a few recruits stand watch in the surrounding streets so that they aren't caught off guard.

"Hey." you say, waving at one of the recruits to show that you are friendly.
"Huh? Who's there? Oh! Miss Theri? What's going on? What are you doing here?" the recruit asks as he lowers his sword, looking surprised by your presence.
"We found some civilians but they are in no condition to fight or escape on their own. Is everything OK here? Will you be able to help them? And get them out of the town if necessary?"
"Uh, yeah, yeah, I don't see why not. You need help getting them here? They need medical attention?"
"Some men to escort them here would be nice. They don't need immediate medical help but some food and water would be nice."
"Okay, watch here for a minute and I'll go check." the man says as he runs towards Ahos (currently overseeing his men from the top of the gate) and explains the situation to him.

You wave to get Ahos' attention from the top of the gate and make a questioning gesture. He looks a bit surprised to see you but motions affirmation. With that settled, you inform Zechariah of your success.

Just as you finish reporting, you suddenly hear a pop echoing through the silence of the night. Well, that's not good. That's bound to make everyone more alert.

Nikolai, chief of artillery

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is wait.
Wait for the signal.
As you watch the town, there's a distant pop that echoes for a couple of seconds. It's almost too quiet to hear, but if you heard it, then those in the town definitely heard it. True enoguh, you see  some of the southern watchtower pause and then direct their searchlights towards the south, probably searching for the source of the noise.

Well, it looks like things are about to heat up. You run back to your artillery position and prepare to Tsar them.

((I'm super-excited, yet my action is most simple so it's hard for Lenglon to express her excitement.))

((Oh dear. That action. That kitchen. Why? Also agree on missing Harry. He had a way of making fun characters and great games.))

You keep your head down and start walking towards the stairs. As you pass by the kitchen however, a bossy lady notices you walking away.
"Hey! You there!" she shouts while pointing at you.
You turn to look at her with a questioning excpession.
"First rule of waitresses: Never walk around empty-handed! Maximum efficiency!"
You keep looking at her, not really sure what she means. That only makes her more upset.
"Ugh, look. If you're going to the guests-" she explains as she slaps a tray full of hors d'oeuvre in your hands "-you always take something to them. Food, drink, whatever. If you're going back to the kitchen-" she continues as she pushes you towards the stairs "-you take something back if possible. Empty plates, garbage, whatever. Otherwise you're wasting everyone's time. Now go!" she adds with one final push.
"I swear, these young girls are getting more useless every year." you hear her mutter as you climb up the stairs.

Upstairs, you have a few seconds to walk around and admire the huge deck of the vessel before a group of guests swarm you like a murder of hungry crows, eager to get their hands on your expensive treats. Once they are satisfied and the cloud of colourful fancy clothes disperses, you inspect the area. Hm. Lord Audrey is nowhere to be seen. She's neither here nor at the boarding ramp welcoming guests. Her usual assistant is not here either, there's just some random lackeys handling guests, but you guess that's normal, she must be busy with the preparations. Maybe she's at the bridge, making sure everything is ready for the demonstration. Or maybe she's somewhere below deck, applying the final touches to her outfit.

You suppose she won't be absent for long, after all the demonstration is supposed to begin in about half an hour (give or take) and she'd want to spend some time with her guests before then. You could just wait a couple of minutes, walking around while trying to evade the hungriest of the guests or trying to find some juicy gossip. Or you can always do something else.


Maximus: Medical Section

Kosak Durar:

"... ABOMINATION!"

Okay. Proper method of abomination disposal: multiple powerful shots to central mass. Once that's done, work on those lesser minions. They're much less durable!
You unleash the god hand and start pumelling the creature to its centre of mass to deplete its hit points.

((Yeah, no worries, I've had that happen to me in the past (not with b12, a different site), I know how annoying it can be.))

: I'm tracking the signal with the Phoenix's sensors. It's coming from a control room deeper inside the Medical Section, close to the Medical Director's office and there's no indication that it's being bounced. :

Brian moves his eyes over the two newly arrived creatures before they can move. The two immedately become disoriented,  Svajoklis immediately capitalizes on this, raising his shotgun and shooting one of them. The shot hits it straight in the centre of mass, sending chunks of the creature flying. The shot seems to be enough to shake the second creature out of its stupor. It immediately jumps towards Svajoklis at high speed, who reaises his shotgun to block the impact. The hit sends him flying back and knocks the wind out of him. The creature grapples onto his body with one hand and the wall with another and uses its other two hands to grabs his new prosthetic. It starts pulling it away and banging it against the wall.

"Don't you dare! I just got that arm back!" he shouts as he presses the shotgun against the creature's eye and pulls the trigger, sending it flying backwards in an explosion of blood.

Svajoklis checks his prosthetic arm. It's sporting a big dent where the creature hit it. Well, that probablty ruins its trade in value but it looks otherwise functional. He can see tears where the prosthetic attaches to his flesh but they are already healing. Maybe some of that healing juice the machine injected in him is still inside him.

: I don't know who he is, but if he is controlling those creatures then he is probably responsible for the attack we saw earlier in those records and for killing all those people. That must mean he's a bad guy and probably responsible for damaging the ship. :

Somewhere behind him, Kosak has punched the larger monster enough to tear a hole through its abdomen and into its spinal column. With another mighty punch, he tears the creature apart, leaving globules of blood floating around everywhere. The creature punches wildly for a while longer before it expires.

: Hah, what a show! You're still alive. Hehe. Then I hope you can... -hihi- forgive my wandering eyes! Hahaha- :
: Restraints 7, 8, 9 and 10 failed. Network instability 60% : the intercom announces.

Hm. These creatures look weaker than the ones in the recordings, they die a lot more easily (not that Svajoklis is complaining). Maybe that crazy guy lost access to some ingredient and can't make them as strong as before? However, even if they're weaker, that won't be of much help if they just keep coming.

((Munchkinry is key. That bone wings thing that tried to pull you away from the plane? You could have built on that to basically make yourself a glider. Birds have hollow bones, you could have done that to decrease your weight. Just some thoughts.))

That guy with the blasty shooty stick thingy(the shotgun, Kosak isn't familiar with guns) looks like he might be a little fragile. Kosak will try to put himself between that guy and the monsters.

♚The Doll Prince: Only One Shall Prevail.♚

Though Jack didn't get killed as he'd anticipated, Napoleon merely smiled as he bore witness to two things: One, the doll exploding proved to him that he is capable of manipulating his dolls in ways that extended beyond merely changing their shapes and growing, morphing limbs. Perhaps once everything settle down, Napoleon can experiment with his powers. Secondly, Jack has now been knocked to the floor by the blast and is no longer ahead of him. Now their individual fates are balanced on a sword's edge.

"As you are sent to the afterlife, Monseigneur Jack," Napoleon gloated as he took a few steps toward the door. "Do ponder on the fact that you wouldn't be in this bind had you not betrayed the wrong person. You'll have plenty of time, after all."

Glancing at the monsters at his heels, Napoleon looked back at Jack, imagining him screaming as the beasts eat him alive. With a grunt, he gave the dolls a simple command. It was better than what Jack actually deserved though. After all, Napoleon is the Doll Prince and even he isn't beyond mercy.

Napoleon will order the dolls to slit Jack's throat deep enough that he will immediately fall unconscious so that he won't feel the monsters devouring him alive. After that, Napoleon will enter that door and close it behind himself.

Well there's air masks like. Right there.

Probably 'bout time to speed the fuck up, so let's put on an armored suit, sabotage the other suits tubing with my knife, grab the rifle and some ammo, and run the fuck away. If the expensive gun you're carrying is big enough, people will think twice before killing you for the other expensive gear you're wearing.

Keep mingling with the guests as I carry food platters around and stuff, passively picking up whatever gossip I can like a princess sponge. Make sure to head around as many areas as I can to ensure I hear as much as I can. The kitchen too, those are hives of gossip and Alayne is just the sort of metaphorical beekeeper needed to extract it.

Oh, and if I manage to spot Lord Audrey or Ventis that'd be cool too.

Consider what the pop could have been. Musket shot perhaps?

Prepare to tsar artillery. Prepare super super hard. Maybe use this time to plan out the best sequence to tsar based on reload times, or get the trebuchet dialed in more precisely, as much good as that will do once its tsared. Or do the DBZ thing and charge energy for about 3 episodes before making an attack, thats supposed to work with chaos magic.
