There's no way that much will come up in the meantime. 0.34.01 came out 2 weeks after the list was through with (not counting stuff that ThreeToe came up with in testing, that is).

I'd actually say December seems somewhat likely, since Toady doesn't have any sponsorship drives or anything to hold him back.

Fun fact: if Toady releases the update after December 28, it'll have been the longest dev cycle ever, beating out 0.31.01.

Anyways, I no longer have any speculation to when it will come out. ToadyOne seems to be slightly random at times with when he is going to add and what he isn't going to add. If he had a set idea of what he was doing, then it would be easy to make a guess. I do not care whether he is random or not of course, if that type of process  helps him and makes the game better in the end, will I am all for it.

I was thinking more along the lines of this legendary champion, all clad in dented and dinged up steel plate, his blood-drenched axe slung over his back, a notch in the handle for every enemy that saw the swing of that blade as the last sight they ever saw, a battered shield strapped over his arm... and a fluffy, pink stuffed hippo hidden discretely in his breastplate.

No, he has a set idea. Everything in this update is related to the original goal (activation of the world) in some way, even if it's through multiple levels of recursion.

For example, combat/move speed split. This was done because it's involved with the combat overhaul which was needed for non-lethal combat which was needed for taking prisoners which is needed for activation of the world.

Actually, DF2013 is coming out in 2014. But it will still be called DF2013.

In all seriousness, the best answer I have is that it'll come out when it's ready. No point waiting on the edge of your seat for these sorts of things.

You'll get used to it, really. Maybe you've been comforted by cyclic updates from other games. But here in Bay12, the Great Toady One takes time with his jewel.

As is the motto, "BEYOND QUALITY!"

We should call it DF2014, even if it comes out a little early. Car manufacturers start in August, surely November is fine.
