Not sure if this post belongs in DF general, but the game seems interesting. Though from watching youtube videos a few minutes I am not sure what it really is about, considering it seems to be a bunch of windows people look through. Is the game sort of like a civilization(though a good use of strategy in battles even though it's not 3d)/mount n blade/Total War gameboard(minus the 3d battles) mix? I can't see putting down $40-$50(dlc) for such a game without the combat aspect unless I am missing a lot.
There's a demo for it.
It's a strategy game where you play as a feudal noble. The basic goal is to expand your realm, put your family on foreign thrones, depose your liege if you have one, and to generally screw around. You can achieve these things through conquest, luck, or by carefully planning your marriages and killing children so your retarded cousin can inherit France.
The most unique part is that you play as a single person. When that person is murdered or dies of old age, you then play as his/her heir(if he is of your dynasty) or as another member of your family, like a retarded cousin you put on the throne of France. This makes family very important.
If you are looking for battles then it really isn't the game for you. War strategy mostly involves standing across a river and having a bigger army. But the other game mechanics more than make up for that.
