Wow, some nice guy named Gantoe just dropped by. We talked a bit, and he donated some exp bottles.

He's been hanging around our base, and wants to join up.  He has full diamond armor, so he must know at least something of what he's doing.

He did say he heard of us though, so we're at least somewhat known.

If he joins, he can stay in Dale. BTW, I'm not trying to be pushy or anything, just stating my mind. Sometimes it might come across that I'm trying to be King or whatever, but I'm not. Anyway, since he's not actually a B12er, he should get a house in Dale.

Do I have permission to gather a few diamonds and enough wheat to make a diamond pick and put level 30 on it?
Because it seems like it would be worth it for if I get fortune.

If you don't use the diamond pick.  We really need to save all the diamond stuff until we have a fair deal of diamonds incoming.

If he joins, he can stay in Dale. BTW, I'm not trying to be pushy or anything, just stating my mind.

That is the agreed upon plan at the current time: Non-bay12ers have to stay in Dale until they prove themselves trustworthy enough to enter the halls of Dumanthion.

Is the Machine Room where we are putting things?  I'd like to get this charcoal burner operational.

In the off chance that I'm not the only one who is really insistent on vanilla survival, there's another server which we could potentially group up on - address: goodolmc.com. It's small, but very active, and I already have a decent underground base going. Not trying to distract from the Civcraft project, but if you don't feel like civilizing it's another option.

So I found Titan Corporation's actual home base, which is 2,000 meters away from Dumathion. They showed me an underground rail to our mines. Y'all need any help digging shit up/mining? If not, they have a big defense project underway I might help with.

Yeah

Done.  Went ahead and made 1024 charcoal and threw it in the storeroom.  That should cover us for quite a while.

I might take a look at it, but I doubt I'd have the time to juggle two servers.

Same here. I'll make a note, though; it'd be nice to have a backup server in case Cicraft goes down or we get bored.

I found a zombie spawner while I was spelunking near the railway, the bastards spawned through the walls at me or something, anyway I got heavily lagged and lost about 3-4 stacks of clay blocks, some coal, 3 stacks of rails, and about 30 iron.
I'm a bit bummed since I really wanted that clay for the farms.
I'm off to titan then :p
Edit: I believe that structure you can see on the map with teh partial hexagon is Titan.
I'm now at the bigass hole, They have a minecart teleporter and a rather fun way of getting back down again :p

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

In answer to my question re MineralVein:

Quote
Veins of different types appear at different heights:
Iron, Redstone, Coal are on levels 22-42
Diamonds are on levels 10-20
You have most likely found a vein, if you see only one type of ore or none at all.
Some parts of the world are made of vanilla ore distribution. The -,- quadrant seems to hold more vanilla, and the +,+ more veins.

So there appears to be some value in searching at the higher levels.   That said, I've seen two "vanilla" deposits of iron near us.

Also, I've found a rather surprising amount of clay near bedrock, in what appears to be a very old escape tunnel of sorts.
