I just hit an large unexplored cave with an ton for ores

Just take the railroad at the bottom of the place and you will be taken to it

Ooh. Excellent.

Also, I'm not sure that we need to make a railway to somewhere else. Personally, I think a rail to near the portal might be useful, but we can just keep extending our branch mine if we need more ores.

What are people's opinions on the carpeting? Personally, I don't mind the red, but I dislike the yellow. Though I can see how an attempt to liven up the ravine might seem like a good idea, I think that in the future all major modifications to shared areas should get a general opinion poll. Not even necessarily an actual poll! Just post about it on the forums, and see if anybody objects to the idea.

Side note, keep the zombie spawner lit by a single torch or something along the lines. Otherwise, Skeletons and Spiders spawn there as well and the number of mobs becomes unmanageable without at least an iron sword.

Maybe. I stopped keeping track since I'm playing a 1.6.2 mod and there's a ton of Snapshots.

You can connect with 1.7.2 or 1.7.4. Technically, the server is running 1.7.2.

White. Universal.
That sounds better. I have no problem with carpeting in general, but I'm not sure it's appropriate for a dwarven fortress. I think it contrasts too much with the stone, and also makes areas of stone (rails, ladder bases, etc.) look bad.

That's just my opinion, though. Depending on what other people think, the carpeting might stay.

I joined this glorious fortress under the name of WagaFett and built a "farm" for a giant spruce tree. Nobody will ever need wood again, unless they want wood of a different color...

The trees grow ridiculously fast and to ridiculous heights and good girth, just like [insert penis joke here].
